Default Me too

I have already started my Christmas shopping and putting away money each month towards the big presents (husband). I also make a list on Excel of who we have to buy for, how much we want to spend and ideas for that person. It made it easy for my husband to understand why we can't spend the amount he felt we should, because it adds up quickly. I started making wine charms for friends and bought everything for coasters. I did ornaments a few years back, but they were the glass ones covered in stamped mulberry paper. You just emboss the image and the use Modge-Podge to attach it. Little messy, but they turn out nice. I want to try the acetate ones this year. I also do the gift card thing when shopping at certain stores. You don't notice a little here and there. I'm always done by Thanksgiving, I hate shopping, so I really don't want to be out there after that holiday. Thank goodness for Amazon and free shipping!

This is a little off topic and sorry for the hijack, but hope it helps someone out there!

I'm not sure how many of you belong to FlyLady site, but around late October, early November she releases her "Holiday Control Journal". It's fabulous! She has lists in there for shopping (cooking and presents).

When you said you had to mark the gifts it made me think of the gift tracker in there! I keep mine handy year-round, then when I buy something, it all goes in there (along with where I hid it) because I used to mark gifts, but then would hide them too well, haha, so it didn't matter. Now I know where everything is and who I need to buy for. I print a copy each year for the upcoming year, that way I have it all the time.

Anyway, these "trackers" have pages for purchased gifts and handmade gifts, budgets for them, whether you need to ship them, etc. It's fantastic.

It's only June 2 & yes I am thinking of Christmas gifts. I went to my first stamp camp and we made stationery holders. I was so impressed that I am making them for family & friends. I'm going to make a bunch of cards to put inside for different occasions. I'm thinking of making a couple of coupons to enclose so that they can request a replacement for something that they used. I normally have everything bought & wrapped by Nov. We will see how things go this year.

I've started buying Christmas presents for this Christmas. Thought about designing this years Christmas cards, but haven't started that project yet. Also have all the supplies to make/stamp CD pins and stamp on candles but that project isn't started yet either.

Also, about the bath cookies, mix EXACTLY as the recipe says. I added the egg to the dry mixture. Big NO NO wasted a whole batch. I packaged them in cellophane bags tied with ribbon. Make sure you put instructions with them. Girls, they smell like real cookies baking.

If you guys have ANY questions, please let me know. These were so much fun to make and give!

Default Gift ideas

I would love to have these recipes as well. I have a niece that loves to take baths. Might even be a good gift from our PTO to the staff. THanks for posting and getting me to start thinking about the time crunch near Christmas.

I am a little behind this year - I don't have anything started for Christmas. I usually stamp all of my Christmas cards (60 of them). I also make packets of cards for my Mom and my MIL. They just love that. It is so nice to have my stuff so appreciated!

Project Details

Title: Vanilla Bath Cookie

Source:
Body Care Basics

Design: Sharie Sloman, Cabbeys Place

YOU'LL NEED
2 c. finely ground sea salt
1/2 c. baking soda
1/2 c. cornstarch
2 tbsp. light oil such as canola or corn oil
1 tsp. vitamin E oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract or vanilla fragrance oil
Miscellaneous items: oven, electric mixer, cookie sheet, two mixing bowls, spatula

INSTRUCTIONS
This recipe yields about 30 cookies.
1 Preheat your oven to 350F.
2 Lightly beat the eggs, then mix in the light oil and the vanilla. Set aside.
3 In a separate bowl, stir together the salt, baking soda, and cornstarch.
4 Add the dry mixture to the egg mixture and combine to cookie dough consistency.
5 Roll the dough gently into 1" balls and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Note: Do not flatten the balls; they spread nicely as they bake.
6 Bake for approximately 5-7 minutes. Note: They do not need to be browned, just spread and well-set.
7 Allow the cookies to cool completely before you store them.

STORE AND USE THE COOKIES
1 Store the cookies in a sealed container. Note: Wait 24 hours after baking before use.
2 Drop one or two cookies into a warm bath and allow them to dissolve slowly. Note: Smashing or crumbling them prematurely will create floating crumbs.

GREAT GIFT IDEA
Create personalized packaging for your bath cookies with a small decorative box and homemade gift tag, as shown above.
Tag: Bazzill Basics cardstock, Adirondack ink, PSX Designs stamp
