hehe, I've been purging like crazy so I could start the new year with an organized crafting area hoping it will help with my resolutions.
1. use the things I have instead of hoarding them for a special project
2.no more double buying
3.don't buy things I don't need
4.create something, anything, instead of looking for an item then obsessively reorganizing because I can't find it.
I'm still thinking, but I really want to do more challenges and get back to scrapbooking. Also, I'm definitely continuing my resolution to use every single image stamp I own. That's an ongoing resolution I started two years ago that has been hugely fun and helped me make wiser choices as I buy new stamps.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone else plans!
I just moved all my stamping & scrapbooking stuff to a bedroom downstairs since my current room will be the baby's room. My stuff is a huge mess right now with piles all over the floor. I have two weeks to organize it before hubby comes home. Then I need to use it. I need to come up with a goal. Maybe start with at least 4 projects a month. I need to get the creativity back & I need an organized space so I use it once the baby comes. I have SO much stuff I'm overwhelmed. I have a huge expedit book shelve from Ikea & need to find cloth baskets that fit it since I didn't buy any.
I plan to use up my scraps and start using aot of my unloved stamps. If I feel that I won't use them then I'll try to sell them so they can go to a new home. I'm also going to try to reorganize things and TRY not to buy anything new until I use up what I have.
One is to get birthday cards sent out, mainly to family and close friends. I also want to start making Christmas cards in January so I don't have to rush at Christmas.
Two is to make a scrapbook of my wedding (23 years ago). I bought the scrapbook and the paper, but I just need to do it. I know it seems odd to scrapbook a wedding that took place over 2 decades ago, but I know that I have probably forgotten details already and I don't want to loose any thing else. I have beautiful pictures but without the story, they mean very little.
So there you have it, what I hope to accomplish in 2011. Now we will see how it goes.
I second Curly Chick's resolve about Birthday cards. I also am going to index all my stamps as Mom to Triplets did using a revolving Rolodex. I've started and it's kind of exciting to think of putting ink to all my yet- to- be -used stamps.

Reason: wrong name
It is my goal to get on another manufacturer DT.. My time is ending soon for a couple of my DT's and it is totally inspiring to be on a team with brilliant, creative minds, and I don't want it to end!!! Add to that the cutting-down-on-spending thing. I have done really well this year, and my husband and I are continuing to live out of jars (put a weekly budget IN CASH into jars and live off of that and nothing else..) so I expect the saving to continue!!

measure the size for your baskets. then try overstocked.com. remember they have super low s/h.
i think target has them online. sometime in their store.

i just spent sometime on your blog. but i was unable to leave any comments. just didn't work for me.
i saw your picture that you framed & then covered w/ golden's gel medium. i just spent a day doing their tour. what a great place. they start off w/ their history. then how they make their paints-super cool. several different ways to use they products. then we got to "play" with different products.
best part they have a little store.
they might have a website-if so take their tour. it's a WOW
- Be organized enough to send cards via USPS to get to the recipient on time!
- Keep my studio space clean(er).
- Make cards ahead of time.
- Invite more friends to create with me.

My goal is rather silly, but here it is: actually mail out the cards I make! There, I said it.
I've been terrible about getting my cards mailed, so I end up with piles in my craft room, and never the right one when I need it. A part of the problem has to do with the fact that my mail carrier comes at around 10 in the morning...way too early for me!
So this year, I will get organized, make cards ahead of time, and get them in the mailbox before pickup!

I'd love to hear more about this! It sounds quite interesting especially since my goal for 2011 is all about saving and living more frugally.
Mine is to actually use some of the thousands of dollars worth of supplies/tools/stamps I have purchased over the last two years to CREATE something! I want to reduce the clutter and not purchase anything more - I am totally overwhelmed with what I have and need to use some of it! Having said that, I have joined several swaps to help me get started.
Stamp more, definitely. And I need to organize my stamping space better b/c I have trouble finding things easily then the whole area is a mess and I end up not stamping b/c I don't want to deal with the mess.
1) Submit to publication calls on a regular basis (monthly when available)
2) Post to my blog at least once a week
3) Sell or donate my unused items collecting dust
4) Spend only what I make through sales on Etsy or publications

This 2010 year my resolution was to SUBMIT to a magazine and I did.
Next 2011 year I want to go one step further.
A guy can dream, right?
The goal of submitting is more important than a goal of being published since you can't be published unless you submit and the more often you do...the better your chances!
Even if you don't get published you should be proud of submitting and enjoy the challenge of coming up with things to submit. There's an open call for Paper Crafts now...maybe you need to start with that! You've got until 1/9/11

@ CurlyChick - I am thinking about the same thing, to start creating Xmas card starting Jan2011! Is that crazy?!
I just joined SU and as a Demo and been getting too much stuff so next year...
1) Stamp more and donate extra cards to OWH
2) create lots of occasion cards to give to friends.
3) limit my buying @ new stamps/paper/DSP
4) have GF over every month or other to share this new hobby
5) Mail more cards to friends/families.
6) learn a new technique / make new style of cards
I am planning to host a monthly evening at my house for crafting since I love to craft with others. I also am going to go full-tilt on Library of Memories for my scrapbooking this year and see if I can get back to it fully. Other things I'd love to do: index my stamps in some practical fashion, work on something creative a little bit every day (my One Little Word is Routine this year so I'm hoping that will help with this one) and I'd like to see if I can get together a class to teach at a LSS and/or on BPC. Don't know how realistic that one is! LOL
I'd love to hear more about this! It sounds quite interesting especially since my goal for 2011 is all about saving and living more frugally.
My husband I got bought THIS BOOK (Debt-Free Forever) because we love Gail Vaz-Oxlade's show "Til Debt Do us Part" and her plan is tough, but it's helped us immensely. In a nut-shell you calculate your income, your fixed expenses, what you should be paying against debt, what you should be putting into savings, and what's left is your weekly/monthly allowance. That is divided up into: Food, Car, Clothing/Gifts, Entertainment, and Other. You leave your bank cards/credit cards at home and live off the cash... We love it and tell anyone who asks how it's changed our lives! Good luck with your goals in 2011!!

I design for: Stampendous!, There She Goes, Technique Tuesday,
SRM Stickers and Deconstructed Sketches.
* Take monthly Copic Classes
* 111 in 2011 Scrapbook pages (often using stamps)
* Stamp every single one of my stamps and use it in a SB or on card
* Make 2 to 4 Christmas cards a month (I can't stand to assembly line, so they will all be one or 2 of a kind)
* Complete organization of Scrappin/stampin studio
* attend 3 SB retreats
* attend 12 or more crops
1. make 10 Christmas cards per month (so I won't go nuts in November - I need almost 90 cards) (I must check out the challenge here on SCS that a previous poster mentioned)
2. once per week, I MUST use a stamp set that I have NOT used before (I have so many sets that are not even mounted)!
3. make 5 - 10 cards per month for my girlfriend to sell at work (she thinks she will be able to sell them - if not those cards will go to Operation Write Home
4. USE UP the stash of retired cardstock/dsp (I'm an SU hobby demo and I have a TON of stuff - I'm not allowing myself to buy anything UNTIL I use up stock I already have!!!!)

haha I saw you mention on another thread about using jars and I wondered if you were following Gail's plan. We love her show too :-)
My New Year's resolution is that I want to get more stamping done. And other crafts that I do too, i.e. crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking, and embroidery. I hope not to break this resolution! LOL

I finished my new craft room months and months ago. I still need to hang the shelves and the ink holders. But since I AM GOING TO DO THIS TOMORROW (sorry hoped my dh would hear that) it really isn't a new year's resolution, but an end of year resolution.
My goal is rather silly, but here it is: actually mail out the cards I make! There, I said it.

I need to do this also. I am so bad about getting cards in the mail. Shame on me I know.
I lost my birthday/anniversary reminder book so my first resolution is to make a new one. The second is to make and send cards for those birthdays/anniversaries. The third resolution is to finish the index binder of all my sets so I know what I have. The fourth is to get my Christmas scrapbook up to date (I do a 2 page layout for each year and need to 2006-2010). I feel motivated just by writing this all down. Thanks!
I will get all of my stamps mounted and indexed.
I will buy fewer stamps, punches and less ribbon.
I will only buy paper I need.
I will stay out of the craft stores until 2012.
