Default Another Xyron question - please, someone help!

OK stampers, please help me spend some more money.

I think (?) I want a xyron. I know there are a million threads already going on this but I really just want a simple answer to a hopefully simple question. I want to be able to make a piece of cardstock into a sticker sheet so I can do all those glitter projects. I AM NOT A SCRAPBOOKER, only a cardmaker, so I don't need it for other projects or larger sized sheets; quarter size is fine. I also have limited space and WAY too much stamping stuff already, so I'd prefer something small and economical.
So, the question I have is...which one should I go buy this week with my Michael's 50% off coupon?
Thanks SO MUCH for any help you can give. Linda

Yes, the 510 is a good size for what you need. You'll never go back once you have a Xyron!

Im not a scrapper either I have the 510 and it fits a card size. My daughter has the smaller 2 inch or so opening (not sure of the #) and I tend to use that one more often. I can run ribbon through it and not have to worry about wasting the xyron paper.

I have a 510 too and it seems to be the right size for me! I use it alot when I want them to stick and stay. I try to stock up on re-fills with my coupons too.

Default xyron900

I have the 900 and find that it is too big for most things that I want to do and waste more paper or don't use it because of the size. I would go with the 510.

I got the 510 as well. Mostly, I got it for stick down large pieces and because it had the laminating/magnet cartridges available too. Now, don't ask me if I've actually made a magnet yet.

I agree. I got a ?250 and wish I'd gone a little bigger. Are you wanting to do the glitter window technique? Have a ball - that one's fun!

I have the 250 and I like it, but if you want to do a quarter size sheet you will need to get a larger one.

I think the 510 would suit your needs. When I have a coupon, and I don't need anything else, I use it for the cartridges. I do make the magnets. I put pics on the refrigerator. I also used it to back the cards for medical and dental appointments. They go on the 'frige, also.

The adhesive/laminate is good for labels on jars and cans. Also for the altoid boxes.

I don't think you will regret having it. I use the 2 sided laminate for bookmarks, it makes them look nice and shiny, and they last forever.

I have the litte x which I use a lot in card making for embellishments. I also have the 510 & and 900. I use the 510 the most...almost every card I make.

It sounds like the 510 is the one that would best suit my purposes. Wow, I didn't even know it had a laminating capability - now I've found two applications I'll actually use it for! (The magnet part doesn't much interest me, but we all know that as soon as I say that, someone here on SCS will upload an absolutely awesome project using it and we'll all be running to Michaels!!)

Thanks so much for your input - I knew you guys would come through. Much appreciated! Linda

Default Xyron 510

Glittergal, that's exactly what I used my Michael's coupon for yesterday. Like you, I'm a cardmarker, and also hope to use it for lunch box tins.

Gotta unpack that baby!

Another vote for the 510 ... stickers, magents AND laminating! I love it! Super easy to use ... wait for a coupon and use that to purchase it!

Enjoy!

Ditto on the 510! I actually have two! I bought my first one way back when QVC had them. Then I was at a Pamida store and saw they had one on clearance. I waited a couple of weeks and saw they still had it on clearance at the same price ($1. I brought it up to the checkout to have them do a price check and it was now only $7.50 -- so I bought it. It came with a permanent cartridge. (The other one came with permanent, laminating and magnet cartridges.) Anyhow, I figured that it was too good of a deal to pass up and now I have a backup if something happens to my first one (that is now probably five or six years old -- or however old it would be if it was purchased when it first came out).

Off to Michael's this week for that 510 (and I want to check out the little x one, too - I really like that ribbon idea, Jovi) and hopefully they won't be out of stock, now that I'm all psyched up for this thing! It'll be a joy to do a glitter window (yes, Lisa, that's one of the projects I had in mind) without having to use mailing tape, which shows on the inside of the card - not too terribly attractive, kwim? Anyhow, I'm excited...a new toy!!!!! Thanks again, ladies.
