Default Dying Ribbon

I just dyed some black gingham ribbon pink passion by holding the ribbon on the pad with a dauber and than pulling it between the pad and the dauber. I love the look, but am wondering if it is safe to use in scrapbooks? I thought it was, but after talking with a stampin' buddie, she didn't think so, that the ink probably would never completely dry on the ribbon. Any one that can enlighten me? TIA!

You can either dye the ribbon by running it over and ink pad and holding it down with a sponge, or by coloring it with a marker. I've been dying my gingham ribbon a lot!!!

When I get done coloring it, I run it through a paper towel (while pinching the ribbon). It stays colored, but gets off the extra ink that won't dry.

Hope that helps!

I do this all the time (only buy white ribbon!), and I never have an issue with the ribbon drying.
