It's someone who buys stamps they didn't normally like at first, only to see it in Split Coast Stampers gallery in a different perspective.
I use to work in a Floral shop, and we would order from Oriental Trading Company.
And the quality of their items were very good. They get there supplies from other Good Companies. Like the Lunchbox tin's. You see them all over the place. So where are they getting them from a Central Wholesale warehouse.
Same way Oriental Trading company get's their.
Our Floral shop would buy Ribbon by the ton's. and Planter's for plants. Plastic bowls for flower arragements.
How about their inks and stamps. Has anyone tried them?
I just got a catalog and wondered the same about the stamp sets. They have a couple of alphabet stamps in the current catalog and for a pretty good price.
Has anyone ever ordered stamp sets from them? If so, how is the quality?

I'm not sure if my post got missed above but I have heard from a few friends that the stamp rubber quality is very poor.
I have ordered from the a couple of times. The brads and other like embelishments are great but some of the paper stuff is very poor quality. I got some, what I thought were cute tag books and they were crap. Also got a set of tags for scrapbooking that looked so cute in the catalog but not so much in person.
It's also a great place to get the lunch tins and stuff. They are great to order from just watch on some things.
I ordered brads and stamps last year and was really disappointed with the stamp quality. The rubber does not hold the ink well and has already started to split. I thought the brads were poor quality too until I got SU new color brads, which have the same cheap, flimsy feel to me so I think my standards are too high.
I have ordered the ribbon on the cards. I really like that. It is an inexpensive way to get a variety of different kinds. I have also used the brads they are sort of flimsy but the price is right and I have not had any problem with them. Last year I ordered the preinked stamps (from the main catalog) for my 6 yr. old neice and she loved them. I don't use them in cards but they are a fun way for kids to "stamp" too.
I have ordered tons from Oriental Trading, both crafts and scrapping stuff. The quality of their items varies. Many, many of their items are brand name stuff without the brand name. They have small scrapping kits of 4x4 albums, for instance, that are by Colorbok.
However, other things are clearly "cheap crap", as my husband says. Craft kits often come with pieces missing but they do give you extras. I have ordered beads with pictures on them, and many of the beads had part of the picture scratched off. I ordered flowers from them -- those daisies that are self-adhesive -- that were nice, but the button fell off the middle of one or two of them. We ordered mini flashlights once but they were just garbage -- didn't work at all. I love the self-adhesive 'expressions' buttons in the catalog but in person they aren't all that great, and have scratches on them.
And sometimes things have been smashed or crushed in shipping -- they don't do the best job packing.
It might seem like those are a lot of problems but keep in mind that I am a leader for two Girl Scout troops and have been involved with Girl Scouts for years, so I have literally done at least 30 orders from OT.
OTOH, when you do have a problem, they are very responsive. Several times I have gotten free merchandise credit from them due to a problem. Or, when they ship out a replacement, they include some freebies.

I've never ordered scrapbooking stuff from oriental trading company- just blow up flamingos, and bouncy ball headbands, but I have always been impressed with the quality for the price.
Now looking across their website I have just seen their "Embellishment Boxes" which come in Metallic, Tropical, and Primary. Oh so many brads and eyelets! UH oh. this could be trouble.
