Altered Books?!? Am I just REALLY dense or what?!?

I've been searching the site the links therein for the last hour and I still just don't get it! What is an altered book? I'm so confused...is it like a "book" made into a scrapbook? Please help me!

TIA,
Tracy

I'm not too into altered books, so I may not be the best person to respond, but from what I gather, altered books are blank books, or any book you no longer want to read, where each page is decorated. There are lots of folks who are really into this. A lot of people do the collage look on each page, but I am terrible at collage and find the altered books just too busy looking for my more simple tastes. However, that isn't a criticism of altered books. There are many many books on the topic, and you might be able to browse one at a stamping store before deciding if this is your cup of tea. Hope this helps.

Here's a link to a tutorial on altering books. It's a whole bunch of fun! HTH...

If you would like more information (links) on altering books after checking out the links that I've attached let me know and I will shoot them on over to you.

Okay, I just have to ask - what do you DO with an altered book?
