Default StazOn & Cleaning Stamps

I've been stamping using StazOn ink tonight and am wondering if anyone has any pointers on how to get it off my stamps! I think they may be stained which isn't a huge deal because they stamp just the same....any suggestions?

Thanks!

There is a special cleaner for that ink. I don't think SU carries it though. Check with your local rubber stamp/craft store. It's called Staz On Cleaner.

I use stazon cleaner to remove these inks. Some folks swear by goo gone, rubbing alcohol, awesome orange. You will need to find what works for you. Anytime I use a cleaner other than stampin' mist I rinse my stamps off to remove any residue. My concern is drying out the stamp, or the residue getting in my ink pads.

Default staz on cleaner

I was taught to roll the staz on cleaner right onto the rubber stamp and then wipe it off with a paper towel or other rag. It cleans them up really well. I have also been told not to use alcohol on rubber stamps because it isn't good for the rubber. I have never used it, so I can't tell you if and/or what it does.

I use an extra YoYo yellow classic pad to clean my stamps w/ Stazon ink.
It works much better than the Stazon cleaner.

I've heard this before but don't understand how it could work. And why yellow? Don't all colors have the same basic ingredients?

I received an error message when I tried your link. I'll try searching the forums later and see what I can find. I just can't imagine how yellow dye ink can clean off any color of solvent ink....and how did anyone ever figure that out???

I use mineral spirits on my Staz on stained stamps and it works wonders.

You got an error because it's in the Demo section. HTH

When I clean my stamps I use a vesa mark refiller. I just put a couple of drops on and then I rub my finger over it and then use a baby wipe to get it off. I think it works alot better than the staz on cleaner.

That's what I do - I also use Staz On cleaner whenever I use Basic Black or Basic Brown. If they still look dirty, I sometimes will rub the stamp over my extra YoYo Yellow pad, let it sit for a few minutes & then scrub on my scrub, which seems to lighten it up a bit.

I'm not terribly fretful about stained stamps as long as the color doesn't come off on my images - after all, they're art tools and should be used!

AWESOME! That's the cleaner - at the dollar store -- it does a great job on the staz-on & black ink & then I just use my SU cleaner to 'condition' the stamps & they look great! Awesome cleaner -- gotta try it!

I was doing a lot of lettering with Staz-on today. I didn't get so anal as to clean each alpha as I went. I kept the vowels damp on a paper towel moistened with Stampin Mist, then cleaned all the letters at once with the Staz-on cleaner dauber. It even got the ink off the wood block where I had a little mishap.

The "K" I dropped on the floor and didn't notice till an hour later was bone dry and was much harder to clean. I think keeping them damp helps.
