Default adhesive on foam back stamps

My favorite foam back stamp seems to be not as sticky as it once was.
When using it in my Misti, once in a while it falls off. Solutions?

If it is the kind with cling vinyl, try wiping it with water or rubbing alcohol to remove any dust or other debris. If it is some type of adhesive, then adding more (like Tack It Over and Over) would work. All of my rubber stamps have Tack It Over and Over on the back and, when they get "icky", I rub off the TIOO and start anew...

I read somewhere that putting some Chap Stick on a cling stamp would make it stick again.

Usually a quick wash in warm soapy water will revive the cling, or a light spritz of water.

I may have licked small stamps in a pinch.

Funny, I just watched a you tube video where the crafter used the chap stick. Until that video, I never heard of using it before. I use the tack it over and over and it works great...

Satmpin Up is the worst for falling off the block or Misti. I use double-faced Scotch tape and leave it on. Washing these does not help.

I use stencil glue on mine, just a very small dab and rub it around till it dries. Holds tight on the block or misti, but is removable.

I put a few drops of hand sanitizer on the cling side finger it around after all areas of the foam has been cleaned using a paper towel wipe off all of the hand sanitizer. This method works for me.

If my stamps fall off, I just stamp in reverse. I close the MISTI by moving the base, not the door. Then it doesn’t matter. There is usually enough friction for the stamp to stay put.

I do that with most of my background stamps - they're curving and impressed with other stamp images because of how I have them stored.

I would never have thought of this. Thanks for posting!

I saw that tip here on split coast and tried it. However it did not work for me at all.

Are you talkin about they're old clear mount stamps? Try their new cling stamps. They work great! If for any reason they lose some of their cling, simply rinse them in clear water. Don't use alcohol on them or it might damage the cling. You can however use alcohol to clean your clear blocks.
