I just wanted to send this $4 stamp to Japan and it was over $10 for first class shipping and about $21 for priority.
Overseas shipping is just plain horrible.

UGH! This is just soooooooo annoying. It's bad enough here that Indo doesn't accept the global priority rate. Other global couriers (ie. UPS, FedEx, RPX) are more reliable but the customs charge is sooooooooo high. It's expensive from here though too - We have paid over $2 just to send a card overseas. Guess we will just be thankful for our email...and send e-cards...and really really appreciate the mail that makes it to us (even if it takes 6 weeks).
I've been sending stamping and scrapping material to my daughter in Okinawa but she has an APO address which helps immensely. It also helps that I used a flat rate box which has been at least a $10. savings. The next box I send out won't be flat rate but being an APO address helps a lot otherwise just sending to Japan is really pricy.
