ACK!! Scrapbook Garden in Wichita is closing!!

I just looked at thier homepage and it said they are closing!!! The biggest LSS in town. How sad.

My3LittleMonkeys 06-14-2011 11:24 PM

Reading things like that always makes me sad. :( LSS were the heart of our passion for so many years. Sad to see so many closing down. I don't think the big box stores can ever give you that at home feel.

Wow - it seems like this is happening more frequently in the past 6 months. Are there any new stores opening?

contrapat 06-25-2011 06:17 AM

I went and bought some things at the sale, but am waiting for deeper discounts for another trip.
I don't think the individual stores can compete with the megastores and online companies. Especially in the current economic climate. There's still Frozen In Time in town, though!

Been missing you, Felisa!

Wow! They've been there for years. That is sad, indeed.

Don't forget Scrappin Time in Derby. I love going there!

If you're a little further north, Scrapbooks, Etc. in Topeka is good, too.

They are great ladies. I started shopping there when they very first opened. The store is about a block from my house (we have been known to walk over when it's not 105!) and they seem to be busy on a very regular basis. I pray that's good.

That would be December, when it's not 105 in Kansas???

There is an online retailer based out of there that has crops you can stop and shop at! There is one this weekend at Hawthorne Suites. I am going

Scrapbook Chicks

Croppin with the Chicks scrapbook retreat - Wichita, Kansas

This made me laugh! I lived in St. Louis for three years. I feel your pain!

Today was only 94. It was a lovely 83 when I got home around 9. DH and I sat on the patio enjoying it. Of course, the forecast for Friday through Tuesday is 100+. I'd take the winter's highs of 20 over this any day. Love Kansas weather.

So sad when a LSS closes. I'm not even sure if we have any left here in Denver. :-(

liannallama 07-14-2011 09:06 AM

Sad for you that your store is closing! One of ours is closing too but luckily there are others in town.
