ABC Book
I want to make a ABC book for my godson's 2nd birthday. I will use stickers & stamps for the images. What type of book should I get? A scrapbook? What size? I want something durable so he can look at it for years without it falling apart or getting ruined. Your suggestions & pictures/examples would be great. I could use a laminator at my husbands work if needed. I think they also have a bind it all type machine but I am clueless in that area.
Thanks! |
I made one of these when my nephew was a baby. At the time, I was using Creativr Memories products, and they had a sticker pack I used - but you could do it with your own stickers and alphabets. I used a small scrapbook - 5x7 or 6x6 - something like that. It really depends on how much you want to put in it. I wouldn't go any bigger than 8.5x11 though as it will get heavy for him to handle. Mine came out really cute. It was a fun project. I used stickers and pictures of people in the family. Good luck!

Excellent gift idea! I have a two year old and I made him this summer a book of colors out of coasters because they are so durable! Check it out on my blog and e-mail me if you have any questions.

Agh, my 2 year old knows her colors already.. |
I made one for my daughter of her first year and in the process of making one for my son of his first year. I am using Creative Memories 7x7 albums and their pastel snap pack. I used one page for a letter and put one-three pictures that represented that letter (i.e. A stood for Arrival and I had pictures of me coming home with her from the hospital ((her alone in the carrier and then one with my husband, me and her)) and then of the stork sign that annouced her birth). I think the snap packs are discountinued, but you may be able to find one from a Consultant and you could easily use their new 8x8 albums or, I think, they still have some 7x7s.
Good luck! Corrie |
I would say coasters for durability too. You might like to cover the front and back with padding/fabric to make sure there are no hard edges.
Lovely idea BTW! |
