I have been UNmounting my stamps onto EZmount all week
I bought 20 sheets of EZmount ($2.95 each on ebay) and have made it through all of my off brand stamps ... I still have 70 sets of SU stamps to UNmount.. ACK i think I need more EZmount.
I Am AMAZED at the space difference! My Off brand stamps used to take up 3 shelves and now are neatly arranged in a binder WOOHOO!
My dd has taken 2 of the LARGE wood blocks and been sticking them to her feet as clogs LOL. I had planned to put the wood blocks in a box to be used as building blocks for her and her cousins , but YIKES that is a TON of blocks!
The bad thing about all of this is now DH realizes just HOW MANY stamps I really have LOL.
Has anyone found the EZmount any cheaper than $2.95??
I think $2.95 is pretty reasonable for the sheets of EZ Mount. Haven't really looked around for it too much though.
Congrats on your increased storage space!!!!! You WON'T regret it!!!! Instead of unmounting my SU stamps - like a dufus, I SOLD them on ebay. LOL Oh well, I needed more money for our new TAC catty which I'll hopefully have in my grubby little hands by this Saturday!!!
I bought EZ mount from Sunday International for $2.75 a sheet. But....this was at a recent stamp convention in Houston. I haven't checked out their website yet. Plus...for every 10 sheets I bought, I got one free! I feel your pain on the unmounting business, I've been hard at it for a couple of weeks now!

Hmm, I've never heard of sunday international. Is that like tuesday mornings?
My dd went to home with my mom last night to play with the little girl my mom was babysitting, and dh was at work (24 hr shifts) so I was alone from 3:00 pm yesterday until now sooooooooooo ..... I sat at my table from 3:00 until midnight UNMOUNTING stamp sets! I unmounted all but **2** of my SU sets WOOHOO! Now I didn't "finish"... what I did was unmount them from the fooam/block, and mount them to the EZ mount.. so NOW I get to sit here and cut them all out. Ohand WOW was I amazed to find that I could get anywhere from 4-6 sets PER ez mount sheet!! So the 20 sheets that I bought WAS enough to do all of my stamp sets including my off brands! YAY!
I should get them all done today before I pick up my dd, then she and I will stamp all of the images onto card stock to make a seperate index binder. I plan to stamp them in black and then hand color the images in order to have a pretty colorful image to look at. I'm still trying to decide exactly how I want to do the images.... by the set AND by the theame (i.e. bugs seperatly, flowers.. etc)
Put a bandaid just above the knuckle of your index finger. All the cutting I did make a horrible looking callous!
Oooh good idea!
When I went to bed last night my thumb nails were throbbing, lol, who would have thought?!? I guess it was just from the way I was holding the stamps as I was peeling the rubber off.
I'm impressed! I don't have the courage to unmount mine. But the thought has been running thru my mind for a while! I have been spending my week organizing my craft space... unmounting would really help.

**giggle** No, Sunday International is a rubber stamp company that sells unmounted sheets of stamps and other stamping supplies. Here's a link. A caution tho', their rubber is really reasonable and hard to resist! I have their Kai scissors for cutting unmounted stamps and I'm very happy with them. Not sure how they compare to SU's.
Ok, let me see if I got this right---if I get some of the Graffix I leave the original foam on the rubber when I unmount from the wood block--put the Graffix on the sticky part of the foam--then this will stick to my acrylic block. Is that correct???

I just started a thread on this subject. I'm kinda being a hesitant, unmounting wussy....cause I have NO craft space except my living room floor!!! I really do need to just do this...I wondre if there is anywhere local I can get the stuff.

Yes, that's correct! They will stick to CD cases, the binder sheets and even the plastic cases that the stamps come in.

Most of the rubber stamp stores will carry ez-mount foam and probably a grafix. Most scrapbook stores I've seen do not. Michaels carries the grafix in an assorted color package. Local stores will probably be more expensive than purchasing over the internet. You can also get it through TAC and work your way towards hostess benefits.
All of mine have been unmounted.... here is a tip for you! Especially for words/letters. Before you put the EZ Mount on the rubber, stamp up the rubber w/ Stayzon ink, and make an image on the Clingy side of the EZ Mount. Then - you know exactly what is on the stamp! I learned this AFTER I unmounted a lot of mine, but now do it on all of my stamps. It is quicker than getting up and looking in a mirror at the words - LOL.
What if I stamped the saying or image in Staz-On directly onto the plastic CD case? Do you guys think that would be helpful?
It may be easier to have the image stamped onto the EZ mount or Grafix, because then it is very easy to just take a glance and know how the image is oriented. Or, if you are doing alphabets, easy to check the spelling.
