Default 5x7 cards ...

I've been thinking of doing 5 x 7 cards for Christmas, but where do I buy paper/cardstock for this size ...

And what stamp set will be elegant and easy to use for such a large card ...

I'm leaning towards O Tannenbaum (sp?) ...

what do you think? any suggestions are welcome and appreciated ...

thanks a lot.

Regular 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock will work...just cut it to be 10 X 7 and score at 5 inches

If you are doing a lot oc Christmas cards, you might go to a store like PaperZone and by a box of 100 cards, precut.
I like 5x7 cards. You can make a much wider mat area behind the images and add more layers. I have not done my Christmas cards this size.... and unfortunately, I hardly ever remember to state the size when I upload a card..... so I can't locate anything right now.

SU! has the Snowflake Set that looks great with a lot of different papers. My favorite is new this year. It is called Peaceful Wishes. If you look at the gallery I am sure that you will see why.

I love Peaceful Wishes. That would be great on a 5x7 card.

The Snowflake Spot set would work well too, it's too cute.

I agree with you - 5X7 cards can be gorgeous, because you can do a lot of layering, use wide organdy ribbon, etc. to really dress them up! I have seen beautiful things done with Solemn Stillness. That one and O Tannembaum would be my favorites! Good luck with your decision.

Default Four 5x7 cardfronts from one 12x12!

I got this great tip on how to get 4 5x7 fronts from one 12x12 sheet:
Put your paper in your trimmer so it's at 5". Cut up to the 7" mark, and take the paper out. Turn it 90 degrees, and repeat. Repeat until you've cut on four sides, and you'll have 4 pieces of cardstock that measure 5x7. Plus, you'll have a tiny square... Try it!
