50's theme stamps

You can get a real retro style with the right colors...pink & turquoise are good. I like the shapes stamp from Smorgasborders and the Simple Shapes set. Also the row of dresses stamp from Simply Sweet makes me think of 50s prom dresses with the big corsage. The flamingos in Tickled PinK? The flower in Love Without End. Classic Convertibles great set!

In the Mini catalog starting in March...I love the Cool Cat set!

When's the party?

My girlfriend just turned 50 and I made her a star book in the fifties theme. I used the Classic Convertibles for 3 of the 7 pages. I have some Elvis rubber stamps I purchased from eBay. Karen Foster Designs has a fabulous 50's set of coordinating scrapbook papers, stickers, and retro alphabets. I love the 50's theme, and I think the retro look is going to be big this year. Just For Fun stamp company has alot of 50's rubber stamps (jutebox, saddle shoes, poodle skirts, 45's, etc.). Also Jolee's makes a 50's sticker set, although they can get expensive. You can also find 50's emblishment buttons at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Have fun, I love the retro look! Billie

Classic Convertibles
All the Best
Paris in the Spring
Jazzed Up

Tickled Pink
Could all be used in a '50's theme.

I thnk all the above suggestions are great-how old is she?

**Love teh Paris in spring idea-you could make the invite in teh shape of a 50s skirt and have the poodle stamped on it with a little liquid appilque

thanks!

Thanks to you all for your ideas! I love the idea of the invite being a poodle skirt and believe it or not, I actually have Paris in the Spring! She will be 9 and we are having a friend of ours DJ with oldies and hamburgers and milkshakes. So, anymore ideas...I will gladly take them! Thanks again to all!

I think the poodle skirt would be relatively easy to cut (just have to be a top fold-that is where the waistband could be)

You could do so many cute things-have the girls dress up and take pics-they can decorate frames (the wood ones that cost $1 at Mike's) and put their pics inside. You could have a fastest milkshake drinking contest (ooh-but they might get ice cream headaches! LOL)

If you go to a thrift store you can find vinyl albums and hang those from the ceiling for decorations.
Here are a ton of fun party ideas:

*if you don;t want to read them all-one I thought was cute was getting an Elvis poster, the kids "kiss" Elvis with lipsticked lips-like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, but giving Elvis kisses! LOL
