Default Peppermint Patty Substitution??

OK, those cute little scallop punch sandwiches with the peppermint patty center are adorable and all, but my kids don't like the peppermint patties!! I know. How can they not like pp's, right? Well, if I make Cambria's darling tutorial basket from this week, guess who will be eating all the pp's???!!!

Does anyone have an idea on what I can substitute here. I need something that is pre-wrapped, because it has to be easy, and I don't want to bake.

Thanks, ladies. I know I can count on you!

Do they like oreos? You could wrap them in a piece of foil. I think I would like these better than peppermint patties!

There's a ton of round easter candy (foil wrapped) out in the stores. I think they have regular chocolate and crispy -- one maker I can think of is Balmer. Good idea to use a substitute -- my kids don't like peppermint patties either.

Well, I'll be honest, I doubt if I would make them for my kids anyway! I'd just run along behind them collecting the cute little covers I made as they would only want what was inside. Even with adults I hate to see the stamped images hit the trash after they eat the peppermint patty! (I've been known to fish them out and recycle them on a card ***gasp***)

But anyway, how about recees cups re wrapped in colorful saran wrap.

How about Scooter Pies or Mallow Mars? (I think that's what they call them.) They are round with scallop edges and individually wrapped and even come in different flavors.

For that matter, it doesn't have to be round things. The basket is squareish, so most anything would fit inside. The original Designer made the basket and that's what she chose to put inside it. Anyone else will make the basket their own and put what ever they want in it. You're only copying the idea, the colors and patterns and what's inside the basket are up to you.

Look's like a good idea to put some "easter grass" in and a cadbury's creme egg or a peep!;)

I think what askagain said would be a good idea. The round chocolate's that are like mini crunch bars.

You know the other day I was at Walmart and on the candy isle they had all color coordinating candies! Peeps, tootsie rolls (love those containers to alter), M&M's - it was all coordinated by color! They even have easter grass that you can eat. It was flavored! What will they think of next!

Ghiradelli chocolates fit perfectly! I used the rectangle punch (marvy uchida) or if you have the nestabilities rectangles. very cute!

jailbird -
I clicked on your link, but it says I don't have permission to look at it.

You can do the scallops on lollipops, the stand them up (or lean them up) in the basket.
