12 x 12 storage help...
 

Ok, so I have a problem...I'm obsessed with paper, pretty scrappin' paper...I also just moved & now my stamp room is TINY & is also home to my computer desk & DH's computer desk & very little wallspace. I need storage ideas, I have all the SU colors in 8.5 x 11 & 12 x12 plus all the purty stuff thats out there too....I've seen cool 12 x 12 thingies like they have at the LSS, but they are $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, I've seen the Target cubes but I need them to be sturdy enough to go several cubes high & I'm not sure they could handle it..I really need to get my room organised (before my new huge order arrives) & need help.....please...

Right now my Walmart in Maryland sells 12x12" paper drawers that stack. They hold a good deal of paper and are very sturdy. I have five of them stacked and then put some photo boxes with stuff in them on top of the stack.

Also, I noticed today that Michael's had 12x12 plastic boxes. They are for 12x12 paper and have an attached lid that lifts up to open the box. They also are stackable and would keep everything dry and dust-free. They are not in the scrapbook aisle but over in the storage area near the jewelry findings and such.

Both are under $5.00 each, although I don't remember the exact price for either one.

Have you tried the vertical paper Paper Holders from Cropper Hopper? I worked in a scrapbook store and people LOVED them. They are plastic, around $5 each and could each hold probably 100-150 pieces of paper. They look like the vertical magazine holders. You can even buy dividers for them.

Hi, just wanted to say I love the Target cubes - I have used them for everything - they hold baskets for my grandkids toys and all the scrapbook supplies you can imagine. I have stacked them five high and five long. The secret is to use cable ties (from Home Depot/Lowes) you can find them in the lighting sections. I assemble the cubes, make them the size I need and then I secure every cube with a cable ty. I have moved them from house to house and they stay together. You can also divide the cubes into sections by using a grid and cable ties (I have divided them into two/three/four and five sections to store paper, sheet protectors, punches, baskets full of SU stamps. Target has them on sale for $12.99 this week and you get six cubes in a box. I usually buy a couple of them and use the extra set as dividers. I just LOVE them. Good Luck!!!

I second the Target cubes. Great storage for the price. Mine are stacked 5 high as well and are packed with paper. Just make sure to use the table ties.

target cubes- I have mine stacked 6 higha nd two across, have every square zip tied together, and they are super sturdy.

I decided to go with the Target cubes for now & I'm lovin' them, I bought 3 boxes & it made ALOT of storage for paper for me, with enough left over to make a few shelves for DH & totally affordable.

I just recently purchased two of the Corruboard paper totes from Paper Wishes. They were only $13.99.

It's really sturdy once you put it together - and it has handles and a lid in case you want to transport them. They have 6 slots for paper, but the totes include 6 divider tabs that you can use as is, or break them in half at the perforation for 12 tabs, giving you 18 slots per tote.

I have Cropper Hopper workstation...was expensive but used 40 % off at Michaels and was definitely the best investment I made.. it is on wheels and fits under my table out of the way you can purchase just the container witjout the frame and is somewhat cheaper...you can see at "cropperhopper.com"
I use 12 x 12 paper boxes...lid opens up has handle is corrogated card... for Stampin up just to keep seperate cause I too have sooooo much other pretty pattern stuff...I think these wer from paper wishes
my daughter use expandables from Jeffrey Allens for her Stampin Up cardstock they are $ 12.99 I think...paper wishes has these but 19.99 I think they are different colors and will hold 12 x 12 they sit up on a four foot cabinet so are handy..

The Target cubes come in black, too. What you do is make the extra "cubing" into shelving. Two boxes made something like 18 shelves, plus I had enough left over for an actual cube. Since I didn't plan to load them too heavily (really since I did not have any cable ties), I just used twist-ems to put the shelves in. So far, so good.

I have several solutions in my room...

1. I have the Cropper Hopper vertical stuff - the best buy is the set (usually $24.99 at AC Moore, but w/ a 40% coupon its even cheaper)

I think what I like about them is that I'm not too concerned about them cracking - they seem to be good quality.

They should also sell them at Costco. That is where I got my first set of these wire cubes about 12 years ago.

I bought my cubes at Sam's Club. I'm pretty sure I have seen them at Wal-Mart and maybe even Lowe's and Home Depot. I put them together using zip ties that you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot. They are very sturdy if you use two zip ties per panel.

I also saw someone on SCS using the cubes to store her stamp sets. She stored them on their side and made the shelves in the cubes to fit. I fully intend to benefit from her inspiration when I get my stamp room going!
