From that experience I learned never to completely trust classic black and that nothing but a good hair washing gets ink off fingers!
Happy Stamping!

Thanks Melisa! I think everyone should put their little mishaps together and share with everyone. What a crazy thread THAT would be!!!
Peace and happy stamping to everyone! I have to go buy the NEW Michael's $1 stamps!

I think you should post a photo of your fingers with your cards. It would make such a cute layout in a scrapbook, but it would be awesome to click your gallery and see your inky fingers.
I've read your post about 5 times now and I'm still giggling. I so needed that laugh!

Great post!! I keep my drink on the bookcase next to my stamping table. If I put a straw in it I don't even have to touch the glass!!

If my fingers weren't so horrendous, I would post them but I might do it anyway. I went to the post office earlier and the clerk said, "Don't you like eating those Cheetos???" LOLOLOLOLOLOL When you all see the card, you'll see the colors and know why...OH MY...I love this site...you guys are really funny.

Cheetos!!! now that's a good one. I'll have to remember that when I'm trying to explain my technicolor fingers to non-stampers.

Washing my hair always washes away the ink of my fingers...don't ask me how/why that's different than just washing them with soap...but it works for me.
Also, to add to your newbie musings...don't try heat embossing on carpeting...it melts the carpeting! I learned that one the hard way! LOL.

I tried the hair washing and it worked!!! Maybe it's the actual shower and the body wash, but who knows why it works.
Uh...heat embossing on carpet...check! I'll keep away from that one! Next time I see a table at a garage sale with ink stains, I won't think, "What kind of a boob does that?" LOL

Miabel,
Would it help you to know that the very first thing I 'stamped' was my, uh-hem... well, to keep it "PG" let's just say I'm kinda a buxom girl, and the first thing I stamped was my left "buxom" into an inkpad and on my cardstock...
and, of course, I was wearing a white shirt!
LOL!
It does get easier!!!

Okay Isabel! Show the card already!
I just got home from a couple of days with my 7 and 5 year old grandbabies and checked my email. So I can say...post away my dear! I had to stop by after reading your email and read through your musings. So funny! But you know what...after making 20 of those cards I had "Cheeto" fingers too! And the next time you are having drinks you must tell them, "Oh I meant to do that! They told me of this REALLY cool technique!"
You have my permission my dear!

Oh my! I'LL NEVER have that problem...heehee. I guess that answers my question about "What kind of boob does that?" (see ^^ for reference) In this case, the left one! HAHAHAHAHA.
Sorry, Willow...everyone is so funny here, but I am actually LEARNING a lot! I never thought about embossing on carpet because that would be something that I would do and I can see someone leaning over and um...well, you know. I bet there are some other crazy stories out there!
BTW, I finally got permission from the original card maker to post both of our cards so I will do that tomorrow. yeah! My first card and first of many "cased" cards!

I'm at my desk snickering about all these funny stories. My coworkers are wondering what's so funny! Here's a new lesson: Never stamp in your brand new blouse. I did that and had one of those exploding Basic Black pads. Both halves of the pad went in different directions and I'm flaling away trying to catch it before it hit's my hardwood floors. I caught the ink pad against my chest. The blouse was never the same but my hardwood floors were saved.
Here's another lesson: Always close your EP container promptly, especially when you are coming down with a cold. One sneeze and that fine powder goes EVERYWHERE!

Great attitude! I do put my slushy beverages in a cup with a straw but I can't bring myself to drink a nice red wine out of anything but a wine glass. That I solved by using our Reidels, which have no stems, so less chance of getting knocked over.
I'm famous for hot gluing myself to the project before brads were the big item.

I'm going back and commenting:
Cats LOVE double sided tape! : :
Black ink on my blouse or my new hardwood floors? Uh...I would be selling blouses with ink stains and calling them the new psychological fad (what do you see in this blot? Which reminds me, do you see those and say to yourself, "Wow, I wish I could emboss that image!" Sick...I know).
If I wasn't spending all of my money on stamps and equipment, I would buy some of those wine glasses too! I'll stick to the sippy cup. I like that idea!
