Me too. The rate, as it stands now, is about 30%. I certainly hope SU brings their rate closer to what the real rate is. Otherwise I may be ordering in American dollars, if that's even possible.

I would love to order in US dollars. I still have a US bank account and a US credit card from the 4 years we lived there. I don't think it is possible though.
I knew about having to buy from a "local" demo, but what I would like to be able to do, if the exchange rate isn't favourable, is to buy using the US dollar amounts in the American catalogue.
I would be very surprised if SU changed their Canadian pricing system. Canadians pay a premium over and above the current exchange rate. It is easy to roll back when the exchange rate changes but harder to increase prices.
The price difference between US and Canada does not only reflect the exchange difference, but also the cost of doing business in a different country. It looks like prices might come down slightly, but I wouldn't expect a large difference from indications we have received from SU.
Using the exchange rate I just got a minute ago at XE.com, this is the comparison:
Any background stamp:
Cdn price in Cdn dollars: $24.95
equivalent in Amer. dollars: $22.55
or from the Amer. catalogue for same stamp (I think this is the price you all have mentioned). $16.95, we would pay $18.76 in Cdn dollars at the current rate of exchange. Big difference.
It is quite unfortunate. I love buying from my demo, but when Americans are paying $60 for watercolor crayons, and we're paying $90, that's just too huge of a difference for me! I can't justify buying them.

This is why a lot of Canadians buy from ebay. Even with shipping added, it often comes to LESS than buying it from our demos, which is unfortunate.
Not only is it less, but it can be less than what a demo would pay with the 20% discount here! I've calculated a few sets and they have worked out to be less than what a demo would pay! Crazy.
The difference in pricing made sense when the exchange rate was up there around $1.5 or even 1.3 but now with it at 1.1 I think SU is making a pretty good margin on it's Canadian business.
