Default Finished UnMounting My Stamps! Yay!!

I finally finished unmounting all of my rubber stamps! I sorted them all. Then stamped the images on 5x7 cards, which I laminated. Then I took all the stamps off of the wood leaving the foam backing. I covered the foam with Alene's Tack It Over Again and placed them on the laminated sheets. The index sheets went into the plastic boxed sorted and separated by tags. I condensed from 2 very full shelves to 2 plastic boxes! (I already have 1 more box ready to go for more stamps though!)

Yay!! It was part of redoing my office. Now I can't wait to stamp!

<clap, clap clap!!> I'm so impressed! LOL, I got a start and now I'm on the "injured reserve" list... I kept trying to avoid having to trek upstairs to microwave sets, and I wound up injuring my index finger, which I was using to pry the foam/rubber away from the wood. Dang it! I hate it when I do that, lol...It's still swollen after a week!

Kudos for getting the entire project done, Keara!

Oh no!

I took over the kitchen one afternoon...
Put all the stamps left to do in 2 bins and hauled them out the kitchen. Had to take a break when my thumb got too hot! I covered the kitchen table with a plastic table cloth, spread them out as I went and put the glue on them there. Had to leave there overnight. DH wasn't exactly thrilled but was okay with it. And now it's done!

KearaS -

How did you unmount your stamps? I have a drawer that could be put to better use, if I could get rid of all those wood blocks. I very rarely buy wood mounted stamps anymore, but the ones I have I love.

S0 - after unmounting all of yours - what's your best tips or instructions??

*chuckle*

I love my WMs so the idea of dismounting them actually made me shudder, but, I'm happy for you that you accomplished your mission--that's quite an undertaking!

What type of containers are you using for storing your stamps? I unmounted my stamps and have a similar setup to you, but I can't figure out the best way to store them. I like what you did.

Don't you just love the finished product! After I got through all mine I had to celebrate!

I will not have another mounted stamp again! They are so easy to use, easy to store and way cheaper to buy when possible!

Enjoy the freedom from wood!
