Please help! I want to print a quote on cs but my printer won't work with the cs. Is there anything I can do?

My printer is an HP & the CS is SU. (all those acronyms!!)

Hi,
Can you be specific as to why its not working? I know on my printer if you go under settings there is on for thicker paper...does it not want to go thru the printer?

Hi Karen,
I have an HP printer and I take the copy paper out of the tray. Don't know why, but it works for me when it doesn't want to pick up the SU cs.
I'm going to check out my settings as suggested by StampGroover.

Once the cs was on the tray - all copy paper removed - it just wouldn't print.

So I adjusted the settings and it worked!!! There was one for card making paper, or something like that & it seemed like the best fit.

THANK YOU, STAMPGROOVER ! I'm so pleased.

I have a HP and can't print on anything but Whisper White and Very Vanilla...I'll have to search harder for settings. It's really bugged me...now there might be hope!

Just an FYI..One time I was trying to print out something and it was on really thick cardstock and kept jamming my printer. Which I had never had trouble before then. I printed out a copy on regular paper and took it to Kinko's used a copier and make a copy with one of their heavy duty copiers and could set it on thick card stock setting.

Worked out well and was the cost of a copy.

I think the printers need to be set up to accept thicker paper...

Here's exactly what I did on my HP printer:

1. When I was ready to print my document, I clicked PRINT from the FILE drop down menu.

2. Click on PROPERTIES on upper right corner of new window.

3. Click FEATURES.

3. In the Basic options, under Paper Type, click MORE.

4. Find the cardmaking selections & click OTHER.

Hope that helps! Karen

This is very helpful, I always wondered how to print on cardstock too. Thanks so much for your help, I have to come here more often.

I have had the same problem with my HP printer--I'm optimistic now!
To get around this problem, I print on normal copy paper, then cover the text or graphic with the smaller piece of cardstock I want, using a removable adhesive to hold it in place. Place the cardstock directly over what you want to print and run the same piece of paper back through the printer. Sometimes I have disasters and the cardstock tries to come off as it prints, but it usually works. I have printed on fabric and ribbon this way too.
