Default I have to share! So happy!!!

I'm going to get paid to scrapbook!!!! WOOOHOO!!!!

I was just asked to do a wedding album by the Principal of my sons' school.
I can't wait to get going. I have boys and never get to do "pretty" pages.

Thanks for listening!

That is very cool for you! And there is so much cool wedding stuff out there right now. I was at a scrapbook store yesterday and couldn't get over the wedding and baby stuff that's come out just in the last few months. Have fun with your project!

That is so awesome! I was paid to do a baby book for an aquaintence's daughter. I do have some advice for you though. KEEP EXCELLENT RECORDS of your time and expenses. I ended up getting $250 for the book I did for my friend, and that barely covered my expenses. You'd be surprised how fast it all adds up. Paper, adhesive, pages, protectors, embellishments... it's crazy! So make sure you get back what you put into it, plus a little for your time and effort.

That's Great!
Also scan or photograph the pages you do. Good for a portfolio if you wish to continue and also for a memory jogger of what you did.

Congratulations! I agree with fool4scrapping and redapron... keep excellent records of your money spent and time invested, as well as keeping a copy somehow of the pages.

I've done several books for other people and have gotten better about pricing things as I have gone.

Default Exciting!

I did a wedding album for a friend of mine. It was fun to do because it was outside of the box for me. I have two boys and just tend to be a pretty simple (not elegant) type of scrapper. I kept track of the products I used and she paid for materials (she offered to pay for time but since she's a friend I didn't let her pay).

I'd asked her if the album was for her or for her son (it was actually HIS wedding pics). She said it was for her. That her son and daughter-in-law received a wedding scrapbook from a friend of theirs that does albums for a living.

So I made the scrapbook. I ran into her last week and she told me that when her son and daughter-in-law saw the scrapbook they kept it! So now she wants me to make her another. Made me feel good to know mine was comparable (if not better) than a "pro". But I think I'll let her pay me for my time this time around!

BTW, when I was looking on websites trying to get an idea of price it seemed like most people charged per page (anywhere from $10-$20 per page). Don't know if that's helpful or not.

Oh my goodnesss!! This sounds soo cool! So, do you have a deadline or anything. This sounds like it would be such a fun fall project. At my house it is just lightly raining outside and would make a perfect day to scrap...or be on the computer talking about stampin' and scrappin'! By the way, don't forget that if you want to use stamps, this would be a good way to get you a new set or two (for the book of course!!)

Default Thanks Ladies!

I can't wait to get started!! I've already picked up a few things and started pricing cardstock. I have an 8 x 5 envelope for the reciepts and a log for the time I put into it.

As far as a deadline, that will depend on when she gets me the CD. The only pictures the photographer printed were 5x7. She still has to pick the ones she wants out of the over 500 that were taken.

Because I am printing the photos, decorating the album and doing the pages--I told her the cost would be $10 a page. I think that is reasonable. What do you guys think?? The pages will be on the elegant side with a touch of shabby. Does that make sense???

Oh yeah, she also has a very large (her words) frame that she wants me to do a collage of the day in. I'm thinking of starting at the beginning of the day and ending with them driving away. Any other ideas???'

Thanks again!!!
