Default Adding extra mini-flap album to a layout

I haven't scrapbooked in about 7 years, but recently pulled out a stack of partially finished layouts and began working on them again. Most of them need a title, journaling and a few embellishments. However, I found one layout that included a little flip-flap album that I made for extra photos. This mini album is already adhered to the layout, but I haven't made a slit in the page protector so it slips out in front for viewing. My question is this. How do I pull the little pages through the slit as I slip the layout into the page protector? It's pretty much in the middle of the layout and I can't figure out how to slip it through.
Has anyone done this before? Do you have any tips? I've read of people doing this, but the mechanics escape me. Help!

I have never done it, because I use page protectors, and like you don’t know how it would work. I hope someone else will comment and tell us. LOL Maybe you could see if Alice Boll has done this. I will look her up and you tube and see if I can find anything.

do you like to do Scrabook Challenges, we have some right here on Slitcoaststampers if you are interested. Here is our June chat and challenge forum: June Scrappin' and Chatter - sbc21jun

I also saw this video when I did a search, but my flip album is already adhered to the actual layout already, and has pages like a mini album. I didn't want to have to take it all apart and use these flip pockets on the outside, since I've journaled and decorated my flip pages. I may have to cut a slit in the page protector and just slip the album page inside...and then lift the protector as I manipulate the mini pages through the slot! If I end up ripping the page protector, I have more of those!! Thanks for your input.

To explain better what I'm talking about, this is the layout and flip album that I added. This was way back when I first started scrapping and added way too many photos to layouts, and too much "stuff". I just want to finish these and get them in my albums so I can move on, With the flip album so close to the binding, I'm worried that I'll rip the page protector once I make a slit.

I can think of two options:
First, cut the page protector away from the mini album so that the mini album is fully exposed and easy to flip through. Another way of saying this is to cut away the square or rectangle that would be covering the mini album. This method means you don't have to attempt to get the mini album through a slit in the page protector.

Second, you could cut away 3 sides (right, left, and bottom) of the rectangle or square part of the page protector that covers the mini album and leave the top as a flap. The flap could flip up and leave the album exposed and easy to flip through. Then the flap would come down over the album to protect it when not being looked at.

Wow Nicole, thanks for so many different solutions to this. I'll give them a try if my first attempt doesn't work. Of course, I probably should have left half these photos out in the first place, or cut them down in size. Now, 30 years later, most of these kids in the photos aren't even friends of my daughter anymore!
