LSC55 - One isn't lonely anymore!

This week you'll be using just ONE stamp set  Don't freak! There is one exception ;-)

Remember what it was like being a new stamper with very few sets? It can be very frustrating while having to be patient at budgeting every month for new stamps. Now I know that it doesn't end ;-)

Here are the guidelines:

Stamps: one set (exception: the sentiment can come from another set); no background stamps or wheels

Cardstock and Ink: any colors but NO patterned paper

Techniques: any

Embellishments: any

Here are some wonderful samples to get you inspired!

dawnmercedes - Little Pieces

JanTink - Simply Said

Momto4boys - Looks Like Spring

vmaduzia - Send a Celebration

dbtdolfin - All the Best

lacyquilter - Best of Cluck

I have quite a few in my gallery. Here's one that wasn't inspired/CASED!
jen70 - Sporting Goods

If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Please remember to put LSC55 in the keyword box when you upload. Some people go right to the gallery and search with the keyword to see our cards.

If you need help with uploading your card to the gallery or posting a link, click here!

Happy stamping,
Jen

luvsstampinup 03-16-2006 07:11 PM

Thanks Jen...I love this challenge. I got a couple new sets in this week and plan to use them for this challenge. I guess you could say, it's back to the basics! Thank you for doing the challenge and posting it early.

lacyquilter 03-16-2006 07:19 PM

Oooooooo! Awesome! You used my card as a sample! How cool is that! I love this challenge. Thanks for posting early, Jen.

Jeanne S 03-16-2006 07:20 PM

This is the combo card I did yesterday - if it had mesh it would have qualified for all the challenges this week!

Thanks for posting earlly. I have a Dr appointment first thing in the morning but hope to play tonight

dawnmercedes 03-16-2006 07:37 PM

Wow! I feel so honored to be an example! Thanks. After a day of not stamping, I'm looking forward to at least one card for this challenge tomorrow.

raduse 03-16-2006 07:52 PM

Thanks for posting early Jen, I'll see what I can come up with.

luvsstampinup 03-16-2006 08:23 PM

Well, I don't think I have ever gone in and created a card as quickly as I did this one! Wow, I wish I could do that more often. I had some MOP paper left from a swap I was doing today and decided to use it for this challenge. It is the first time I have ever done MOP, so I hope it looks ok...I've never seen it done except on virtual cards...LOL. TFL

DawnL 03-17-2006 03:21 AM

great challenge Jen!! I know I sure would have appreciated seeing what to do with a single set when I first started;) You're a smart one you are! :-D

SwissMrs 03-17-2006 03:26 AM

Look's like a fun one! I will have to see what I can come up with?:)

Barb, that is so not fair! I was going to use that technique, but I needed to sleep first. Maybe I will anyway.

allee's 03-17-2006 03:54 AM

Stamps: one set (exception: the sentiment can come from another set);

This could be a lot of fun but I know I will have withdrawal issues with the background stamps!!

MyPrecious 03-17-2006 03:57 AM

I have a million birthday cards to make - let's see if I can play today....the elementary school kids took up my time yesterday.........

CAN I ADD SOME MAGIC MESH TO THIS ONE?

I'm sorry Melody, but yes you should go ahead. So many of us use the same stamp sets. Yours will have a different look and I'm sure it will be great as your work always is! I have to go out with my dd today, but I will look forward to seeing what you do with it when I get home tonight!

Julia S 03-17-2006 05:37 AM

Here is my first card and challenge for the week.:( Not much stamping here so I did a quadruple combo.

I am SOOOOOO excited!! This fits me to a T!! (and if the embellishments were limited too, it would be absolutely perfect!) I was thinking of asking you to do this type of challenge (but never got around to it!!). Hopefully, will get to play (been "goofing" off too much...got to get a few things done today!). If not, I will enjoy looking at all the cards that I can CASE!!

Dawn, it uses white Lumiere dabbed on your cs with plastic wrap & color brayered over it & it's awesome!

[edited, sorry wrote the wrong thing!]

lacyquilter 03-17-2006 06:31 AM

I have my first one done. I may just have to do another. I did a multi-challenge -- count 'em -- FIVE challenges on one card! Whew! Here's my little bluebird.

Speedystamper 03-17-2006 06:53 AM

I just completed my card for this week's challenge. I really like how it turned out. Maybe I don't need as many stamp sets as I think I do . . . NOT!

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...500&ppuser=646

Jerri Kay 03-17-2006 06:53 AM

Wow, it's amazing how we rely on multiple stamps to do our cards. Well, I've done it, I've made two and I have some stained fingers.

This one isn't great--I think I need to get some new "fresh" clear EP, but I had fun making it and it looks mostly happy.

Here is mine, way fun. Other than backgrounds my mind never wanders far outside the box (my mental box or my stamp case box!!) so this was not really a stretch for me. I just love the Simply Said set!!!

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=13366

PaulieY 03-17-2006 09:25 AM

I use this technique all the time for my set samplers to show my SU! customers the versitility of each stamp set. I did alot of cards last weekend (I was at a crafters reteat and stamped for almost 48 hours straight!) that I havn't had time to post yet...still trying to catch up on sleep!! Will get them posted to my gallery either tonight or tomorrow.

I had to re-read this one. I thought it said 1 stamp. My mind was racing getting all excited to try it. I am every excited to try 1 set too. I'll have to get to it after lunch.

csibru 03-17-2006 10:11 AM

Thanks Melody, I uploaded again with a new name for my scan. I think that was the issue so hopefully it will be approved soon!
