You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
I know that I took the name from the last VSN, but if you're here with us, you ARE home for the holiday weekend! ;)
This will be a different format from what you're used to. There is no schedule. Instead, once 10 cards are posted to a challenge, I will post a new challenge! (Please: no previously stamped projects, today, do to the nature of the format.) Each challenge has a slightly different keyword. Please use the keywords so I can quickly know when to post the new challenge. All challenges will be posted in this first post.
Challenge #1 - Black Friday
Keyword:LSC91A
The beginning of the December holiday season has started as always... with Black Friday. This is a theme challenge. Very little restrictions to start out the day. You can make cards, tags, altered art, etc. It just needs to have a shopping theme to it. Use any colors or embellishments.
You better not pout, you better not cry. You better not shout, I'm telling you why. Santa Claus is coming to town!
This one is for the kids. I decided that my young nieces and nephews would get their very own Christmas cards this year... a little early... from Santa himself! He wants to remind them to be good little boys and girls. ;)
Your challenge is to make a Christmas card for a young child. Remember that most young children are concrete and rule oriented. So the limit is this: Use traditional Christmas colors! You may use any embellishments. If you don't celebrate Christmas, please feel free to do any holiday card, just use traditional colors.
Challenge #3 – Three Cheers for the Holidays!
Keyword:LSC91C
There’s an artist principle that advertisers use. It’s called the rule of three. For this challenge, I want you to use images stamped and grouped in three on your holiday card. It should be the main focus on your card and not an accent or background. They may be the same or different colors. They may be the same image or three different images. Please see the samples... They are grouped differently. Some have holiday images. One uses a non-holiday image to make a holiday card. You may use any colors or embellishments.
If you are part of the Challenge Chasers RAK group and the Stalker Sistahood, you may be having trouble getting your cards out during this busy holiday season. This challenge is meant for you, but anyone can play! You are to make a holiday card that can be done quickly… and mass produced if you choose. It will also be easier to mail many of them at once because you won’t need to worry about extra postage. Why? No embellishments on this card! You may use any colors, go easy on the cardstock layers, maybe some thin dimensionals, but no embellishments!
First, the presents get bought. Then they are wrapped and unwrapped. But you're not done, yet! There are thank yous to be sent. For this challenge, you need to make a holiday thank you card. It should look festive like a holiday card, but it needs a thank you sentiment.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Morning!! No shopping here (unless it is online!! DS#2 wants to stay home with mommy today and do something "special"....think that I can convince him that stamping is special???!!! I'm going to try to do this....got an idea!)
Hope you're feeling better Jen! Thanks for the fun day ahead!
What a cute idea! I'm definetely on Limited Supplies, as I'm 3+ hours away from home right now with a small amount of my stamping stuff with me. I don't know if I brought anything that could be a shopping theme, though. Oh darn, and just thought too that I have no camera or scanner to upload! LOL Guess that's another limitation for me! I'll enjoy seeing what everyone comes up with! Happy Stamping!
oh boy... this is gonna be hard! I AM "home for the holiday" but I have TOO much to do. I doubt I'll get stamping time!! :( Although, maybe wanting to get back here to play might help me speed my other work up!!
I'll be checkin' in to see everyone's cards...
Jen.... you are somethin' else!! Bless you!! What fun this will be for so many poor stampers 'stuck' at home!! tee hee!!
Happy Black Friday. People are out there being crazy, and we're here having fun! Thanks, Jen. I've got two pictures, but it's only one card; so don't count it twice.
Happy Black Friday. People are out there being crazy,
I went out at midnight this morning to shop - the local outlets opened that early. I only stayed for an hour - but got what I needed. They didn't think anyone would be there - so they were super understaffed in all the stores. I have never seen so many cars waiting to get in EVER! It was fun - better than going today! Now I can stay in and play!
I woke up feeling worse.... even more achy. Sore throat still. But I just sweated off a fever about a 1/2 hour ago, so I was able to feel like stamping again. :-D

Jen, You and I must have met in the hall somewhere. I have been fighting a terrible cold or flue....whatever....I cooked yesterday for the holiday but went to bed at 7:30. Great hostess to my MIL, huh??!! I feel a little better today....cough, cough,,,sneeze and feel well enough to toil at my stamp table.
