OK...I dug and dug and pulled out two hostess sets from last year's catalog--Timeworn Trim and Small Script. I always meant to mount them, but just never got around to it. Those poor little orphaned sets would never have been mounted now that they're no longer available. They would have had to go to The Island of Misfit Stamps. But--YAY!--Splitcoast Stampers LSC to the rescue! I love them and will have to find an excuse to use them now!

My colors also have a funny story--I never use creamy caramel or very vanilla--I just love the brown and white craft and use those when I want a vintage look. Both packages were unopened! I didn't even know that I had creamy caramel ink--I've looked several times over last year and didn't see it. Well, I had it the whole time! The little color code on the end (that says "classic") looks pink. I thought it was pink! I would have been using it all along had I known I actually owned it!

I also rarely use any purples--just not my thing (poor Elegant Eggplant sits unopened, as well). But I really love this card and will have to work purple in more.

One last thing--the buckle...I never use my hodgepodge buckles (I never use a lot of my hodgepodge--no ideas--but I bet there's a whole thread on that somewhere...)

Anyways, I love my card and it makes me hungry for a caramel plum tart with vanilla sauce...

Can you tell I've had too much caffeine this morning?

Hey, this challenge is just not working for me. I actually looked at my dusty sets, thought up a design while I bathed and dressed and then tried to execute it...and nothing. Did not work. So I started house cleaning...And at least the house is clean! I just need to get rid of these sets!

I found some of my first stamp sets--Hang Your Heart and Swirls--both very retired. I decided to use Bravo Burgundy, one of those colors I just can't seem to warm up to. Also used gray tones as I rarely pull those out of the drawer. Used this week's skectch challenge as a start, but turned to one side for a different look. The ribbon matches a bit better IRL.

Here's mine. I ended up using Warm Words - sparkle! And just last night I thought I'd never use that word. I figured it was a great additiona to my challenge today!

Here's one from me. It's been a while. It's a bit overdone for limited supplies, but I swear I have so much stuff that I never use that it was hard to narrow it down!

Okay, So I thought this was gonna be a breeze and tons of fun! But I was wrong! This was one of the worst stamping experiences I have put myself through in a long time. Now dont get me wrong gals, I love the challenges, this one was just more of a challenge than I anticipated. I am re-doing this one until I feel GRRRRRREAT! again. It is a super fun challenge, really! I just kind of burned myself out trying to get this one card to work and it DID NOT! But, you get to see it anyway! and Now I am of to go try again! Happier Stampin'!

The stamp set that I found that I hardly use in my stamp collection is Stars & Swirls. I use all my embellishments so that was a little hard and the paper well I just love all of the colors SU! has to offer. I ended up using vellum which I haven't used in a long time. I used two challenges to make this card. Thursday's challenge - WT70 - Vellum and this one!

Here is my card.........
Stars & Swirls

Cheers!

Here is my challenge card for today. This was fun looking for the things that haven't been used. First time for making anything with Lavendar Lace or gable green. The crop-a-dile was a waste of mones and I used the stamp-a-majig for the first time today because one of the images didn't stamp very well, so I re stamped it using the SMJ. I like that tool.

Great challenge Jen!!! You made me get off my butt and use a set that I never use. I pulled out colors that I rarely use together and played adding Stickles glitter glue- which I haven't used in a very long time.

PS. Please keep me inyour prayers this weekend. I found out yesterday that I have a mass on my brain and need to go back in on Monday to have another MRI with contrast to see what it is. Please pray that whatever is there will not affect my brain function, will not grow any larger, or will not be cancer.

Thanks my SCS friends. I know that God led me to this site so I would have not only a creative outlet through the challenges, but also a great support system of on-line friends. For that I am truly thankful. You are all a blessing!!
