LSC61 - Pets are People Too
Last week, a challenge stalker posted about buying a card from the store. It was an Easter card from the dog. The pages in the stalkers threads are too many to go look for the stalker, but this in is honor of you! :p
This week, we will be making cards that our pets give to others. Many people think of their pets as human, and a lot of our pets think they are human! Our cats do! And hubby loves to give me cards from them as well as from himself and our son. Now I need to teach him to stamp all those cards!
These cards can be for any occasion. They just need to be from your pet. (Umm... not stamped by your pet... unless you have a super talented Paco of coarse!) You can use stamps or computer generated pet quotes for the sentiment or verse. Be creative! Let's see birthday, graduation, holiday, get well, and more! You are creative, talented, and funny stampers. I can't wait to see your creations when I get home.
Please put LSC61 in the keyword box when uploading!
Limit: Theme - cards from your pet(s)
Stamps: an animal stamp plus any others you want to add
cardstock and ink: any
embellishments: any
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!
If you need help with uploading your card to the gallery or posting a link, click here!

OMG, I am not even a stalker and I am on the first page....how does that happen. I have been doing the challenges right along side you talented ladies...but my scanner is broken, so haven't been uploading anything. This will be a fun challenge for tomorrow.

Cute challenge!! Okay, my pet is a guinea pig (see my avatar!), but I don't have any GP stamps. However, we have a stuffed moose and a stuffed bear (think TY's bigger animals, not animals that have been SHOT and stuffed!! <horrors>) that are, er... um... <whispering> very much a part of our family due to our 22yo DD's including them in everything. So can I use the Pines set to make a card from the moose or bear even though they're not alive technically? <g>

Ooooh...thanks so much for that puppy image in my RAK this week, Jen! It is going to make my card so much easier to make. Plus, I think my parents will have to put their down to sleep in a few days. So I have an idea this pup might make a really great card for them!

hummm, I don't have a pet, at least not anymore...or actually, my dh has been known to 'bark' orders out to everyone within earshot from time to time...maybe I can come up with something after all! LOL
Thanks Jen...and hope you get to feeling better very soon.

Yes. You can pretend! Actually, I sent a dog image in a RAK to all the VSH hostesses as a hint and as an image they can use for their challenge... and I have no idea if any of them have a dog!

Jen, thanks for permission for me to use Luppy the Bear and Mort the Moose for my cards. Should be interesting.... I make cards *for* them occasionally, but this will be different to have them SEND cards!!! DD should get a huge kick out of it (unless she's horribly embarrassed that I talked about "the boys" on a public forum! <G>
In case your interested, here are links to some of my very first stamping/scrapping projects, posted on 2Peas!

(the Bear actually had his adventures scrapbooked while DD was in Mexico for 4 months - the moose fit in her suitcase, but the bear didn't!
It's weird looking back on my earliest scrapping and stamping days - pre-SCS!

I don't have any animal stamps. I don't even have the paws wheel! Shocker since I have a dog who is very much a part of the family. I will have to see if I can come up with something. But if not I sure will have a fun time watching what everyone else comes up with. Fun challenge Jen!

OMG, Jen, this is me you are talking about..I am so honored that you took that idea from me. <Blushing down to the tips of my toes now!> I love having Duke give cards to the kids or having him give them to me. He gave them one for Valentines Day too! For my birthday Duke even stamped his paw print in my card..lol (Too funny to find a paw print shape in my basic black after they had done it..lol!)

I have tons of dog stamps. Also for the guinea pig, how about the teddy bear from The Bear Necessities that has a rip in his arm and stuffing coming out.

The Rainbow Bridge A poem about Pet Loss.
Hope this URL works, I just googled it. I have not looked around the site at all that I linked, just saw that they have the poem I was talking about. I printed this out on vellum, and below it I stamped paw prints and So Sorry. I did not get a picture of it, as it was one of my first cards I did for someone else, so wanted to get it to her. It turned out nice. I bet this would work super on one of those mini tall cards that fit into a regular size envelope as the poem is a bit long and in order to make it fit I had to make the font pretty small.
Hope this helps someone.
