Another for LSC57
This background is embossed with Winter White - it doesn't show up in the picture, but IRL, it's really rich looking!

What a great challenge. I purposely avoid using white as a card base because I like how colours look. I'm going to go home and try this challenge! I just bought some very vanilla and haven't opened the package yet, so maybe I'll brave that new teritory too!

Default Great Challenge

I think we all get caught up in the layering and brayering that we forget the beauty of simplicity of the white or vanilla. Here is one I did awhile ago in a quest to stray from all the layering. It is an image taht was versamarked and then I ran the chalks over it to color it. But I am going to try a new one following some of the great examples shown here:

WOW! WOW! I'm enjoying seeing everybody's creations!!! SO COOL!!!!! I wish I had time to comment on them all, but I'm having trouble moving through the gallery.

Suffice it to say, I am still trying just to view them, and when they do load, I am bouncin' in my seat, sayin' "Oh, WOW! I love how this design was done--and that one, Oh, and that is clever, and gee, I never thought to try this; I must make a note of that!"

FUN!!!!!

I would really like to participate...but I don't think I'm capable of such an impossible feat!!! I never do anything that doesn't have at least 2 colors of cardstock and at least 3 layers. The simplicity of this is too much for my system to handle...I would go into meltdown!

Here is one I had in my gallery. Very simple but striking. Instead of stamping, I embossed.

For the record...I made one but my scanner doesn't pick up soft subtles at all. Even with fiddling with the adjustments. So I guess I'm going to have to go darker before I can post!

OK, so I went to breakfast and then to AC Moore - had to buy something with this week's 50% off coupon (ended up w/ the Fiskers Ultimate Craft Rotary Paper Trimmer for $20) and came back to 34 comments on my card! Thank you everyone for your kind words. Then I read through the comments on this thread - isn't it funny how we get so caught up in the extreme and when we go back to basics it can be so beautiful? I have seen some terrific cards for this challenge so far - Jen, GREAT idea!

The things I found to work the best are:
- Use the largest ball on the stylus as you can fit in the crevaces
- Use the stylus on top of wax paper. That will help the stylus move across the paper more smoothly.
