LSC46 - DIY Stamps
This Limited Supply Challenge is a repeat of stampinspud's January VSN L challenge. It was second to last and I think people were too tired to participate. Let's give it another chance because it's a perfect fit for those with limited supplies.
Do It Yourself stamps - What's cheaper than making your own stamps from rubber scraps? I find it easier to make solid shapes, but any image or background you create is welcomed.
Stamps: handmade stamps, additional stamps are optional
cardstock: any
ink: any
embellishments: any
*Please put LSC46 in the keyword box when you upload.*
Here are some samples:

Jen, ya mean I have to do this again??? Just kidding! For VSN, I cut mine from fun foam. Is that an alternative here if someone doesn't save their rubber scraps?

I remember seeing on either Scrapbooking or Carol Duvall little ones made from pencil erasers... they were cute.

I'd never heard of the VSN until that afternoon when I seen all that was going on!! So I missed it totally, but I enjoyed looking at everyone's creative ideas!! I'm hoping I can join in on the one in Feb. now that I know what it is!! So this is nice, though...no pressure to get this done in 40 minutes!! I'll give it a try and see what I can do.

You mean I don't have to use a potato this time?!?! Yahoo! I'll have to dig all of my rubber scraps out of the garbage... good thing my stamp room garbage doesn't get emptied that often!

Wanted to try a Pop-Up card so I used my DIY stamp on it. Love the directions for these! Can we give Beate a hand for her directions with these cards?! She makes them so easy to understand! Anyway, the second picture shows what I used for my "stamp". I only used markers for the rest.

Oooh...I did something like this a while back, using a Lego for a brick facade.
Will have to see if I get time this weekend to try something new, but here's the one I did back in April:

Here is my upload for today's challenge. Many thanks to lacyquilter for suggesting fun foam otherwise I don't know what I would have used since my rubber scraps ususally end up in the garbage pretty quickly. Guess I will have to start saving them.

The colors look much better in person.

LSC46 DIY stamp challenge
I haven't stamped for tttwwwooo, that's 2 weeks.....So I decided to try and hit as many of this week's challenges in one card as I could. I not only wanted this to be a DIY card, but also, masculine, verticle, etc.
I feel much better now.
Thanks for the challenge,
Wendy

Okay, I got a fast and easy one done tonight so I'm catching up on challenges, only three to go!
My card description will explain the stamps. I really wanted to use stars so it would also work for boys but I have a LIMITED SUPPLY in brads!
Oh, and Jen, now I know why I got a couple comments on that card you used for an example. That one is a fast card too!
Here's my card

Well, it took me long enough to come up with an idea. It really isn't easy to cut the stamp leftovers very small. Here's mine.

Sorry ladies that I haven't been on to see all your creations. I've been suffering from a severe migraine. I'm starting to regain feeling on the right side of my body. I promise to come back and comment on your fabulous work when DH isn't shooing me back in bed. Til then, thanks for playing.

This challenge really made me have to think. I really wanted to put a background on the celery but thought it might over do it some. I made the Martini glasses from a triangle dice that that My Husband had sitting on his desk. Then I used a pencil eraser for the olive and drew in the red and the black part of the glass. I also used the corner part of the dice to make the star background. Lastly I used my stampin mist lid for the circles on the darker blue background.

Here's a card I made by cutting foam with a Sizzix die cut and mounting it to a acrylic block with double stick tape. Upper background imitates the dot background stamps. I used a embossing stylus and Ranger resist ink to dot the upper portion of card.

This card covers three challenges - Background stamp made with red mounting cushion, masculine cards and faux stitching.
