LSC205 - CAS
Jeanne S asked me to hostess today. She's having a fun week at CHA! And I'm thrilled to be here this week!
This week I discovered a member's gallery that is just amazing. I found her on a thread she started in General Stamping. You can see it here. In Susan's 1st post she says:
"for those of us who don't do techniques that require anything like "talent" or "skill," who don't layer our cards into inch-thick confections of pure gorgeousness, who don't have all the latest nesties or copics, who don't have coloring skills above kindergarten level, and who do love to make clean and simple and, most of all, EASY cards...please post your favorites from your own gallery, the ones that make you happy"
Susan is talking about Clean An Simple cards, otherwise known as CAS.
Today, we are filling the gallery with CAS cards! Need a little inspiration? Here's Susan's beautiful gallery. And the following are some of my favorite cards she's made.
Card 1
Card 2
Card 3
Card 4
1st Keyword: LSC205
2nd Keyword: CAS
LSC205 Gallery
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!
Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows: One window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
You’re done!

Another cool thing about the CAS cards is that you know one postage stamp will do it I love it when I can make a card like that.

Well...I'm up, so I decided to make another card. Mark looked at me and said, "It's 1:40...I thought you were going to bed after you uploaded that card." I said, "Hey, I'm up, and I want to make another one....Get your stopwatch and time me!" He did...This one took 9 minutes and 24 seconds! It took FOREVER to upload it! LOL!
Here's my 9 minutes 24 seconds, NO DOTS, Clean and Simple card...

LOVE this challenge!! I have always found it a LOT harder to make a simple yet effective card......quick and easy AND effective is not my forte, so I was a very happy camper when I created this card all by myself. It has been a favorite card - the best thing is that it's shimmery white layered onto itself but only one time....that way you cut away the rough edges of your background stamp and just layer it right onto a shimmery white card base,,,,simple but IRL it's really beautiful cuz of the shimmery white!! Can you make something ugly on shimmery white??? GREAT REFRESHING CHALLENGE!!
