LSC169 - The Hardware's Not Happenin' Here
On Wednesday, I was just about done with my sketch challenge card when I discovered that I didn't have enough white brads. I was NOT happy! But instead, I used heart stamps. I instantly knew what this week's challenge would be.
This isn't just simply a no hardware challenge. I want you to replace the hardware with stamps. On my sketch challenge card, I used heart stamps instead of brads. On my Ways to Use It challenge card, I used golf tees instead of eyelets and ribbon ties.
Keyword: LSC169
PLEASE do not think you need to comment on these sample cards. They are just to get different ideas to get you brainstorming... if you haven't already seen them.
Sketch Card
Masculine Card
LSC169 Gallery
EDITED: I had a good question asking if chipboard could be used as a replacement. The challenge is really to use a non-consumable item (stamp) to replace the hardware. You can do it!
To begin with, think of round things for brads: baseballs, snowballs, Little Pieces, anything that can be punched with a small circle punch like my paw prints... even tiny ladybugs or small letters would work.
Then branch out to other small stamps: tiny flowers, tiny shells, tiny diplomas, stars, hearts, etc
All Wrapped Up has some great tiny shapes.
Look at your sets that have small coordinating images. Crab & Company & Favorite Teddy Bear are great examples.
Cool Cat & Unfrogettable have a cute little bitty crown.
Think of sets that have 3 small images lined up... like the ducks in the set, By Ones & By Twos.
A stamp index really comes in handy for a challenge like this.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

What a brilliant LSC!! I generally don't use much hardware to start with so it was quite easy to incorporate the "faux" black brads into my card tonight!

this one was hard to come up with an idea for! I love a challenging challenge!
I use brads all the time to attach my ribbons, so instead this time I used a cut out flower image and some glue dots to attach the ribbon!

Western Faux Brads
I wanted to get this posted tonight no matter what. Thanks for the interesting challenge. It was a little hard to make sure the image wasn't over the faux brads, but I finally got it to look proportional. Here is my effort:

Thanks, Jen, this is another good one to stretch us. Thanks so much for looking.

I had a bit of trouble with the upload and my first attempt had no details on it. I tried editing to add the information, but can't tell if it took.

Great challenge - I will probably be casing a lot of these cards. I send a lot in the mail, and try hard to seek them sort of flat. I have seen a lot of great ideas here already.
