If youve ever wandered into my gallery, you may have noticed that I love butterflies and use them a lot. There are at least 70 cards in my gallery portraying at least one butterfly. SU butterfly sets have a tendency to jump right out of the catalog into my stamp room.
Todays challenge requires at least one butterfly on your card or other project. However, the real challenge is that you may NOT use butterfly stamps, stickers, punches, templates, die cuts, etc. Your butterflies must be created from stamps that are not butterflies. An example would be to use hearts to make your butterfly. Let your creativity flow and have. I cant wait to see all your creations.
This is not a race or contest. There is no time limit. This is simply a way to get you stamping and thinking outside the box. Please be sure to put LSC94 in the keywords section when you upload, and then post a link to your card here in this thread. If you are new to the challenges, or need help uploading or linking, click here. As an added bonus, from all cards uploaded by Thursday, December 21, 5:00 p.m. central time, I will choose one that I think is most creative and send an RAK to that person.
Thanks for such a fun challenge, Melody! I can't wait to give it a try. (I didn't do one ahead of time because I wanted to make sure I understood all the requirements and I wanted to see some samples first. Glad I waited. Your samples make it look a little easier.)
OK... I'm laughing at myself. I used Flower Filled. Made a butterfly from the egg in that set. It was almost as big as the boots! LOL! A little out of perspective. I need to try again with some bigger flowers. I liked the butterfly though.
Phew!!! This one took some thought. Thanks for an awesome challenge Melody, for it was a challenge. I ended up using the tulip stamps from watercolor garden II as the wings for my butterflies and one of the leaves as the body. I'm pleased with the outcome, so go ahead and take a look and let me know if they really do look like butterflies. Flower Butterflies
Oh my, I'm gonna have the whole day to think about this one. After work I'll give it a try. Thanks for the challenge Melody.

At first, I was like "Oh my", but now I see endless possibilities. Hope to get my work done so I can play some more. Thanks for such a fun challenge and for filling in for Jen!!!

Wow, this sounds like fun if I can just figure out what I want to use...i have very few flower or heart stamps (I know, I know...what was I thinking???) Hmmmm.... off to the drawing board....
I'm embarrased to submit this card as the butterfly is pretty pathetic looking. But a played and now it's off to do all my running around. Couldn't take a vacation day and not stamp.
Not at all what I was trying to do here... but since it's time to leave for work I have to keep it as is. Maybe I'll try to work on another butterfly at work today!
I tried to edit my photo but it didn't work, I made a mistake and said the sentiment is from Walmart, it's from Mike's. I also wanted to say i cut my blossom on my cricut 4 inches. ThaNKS.
hmmmm.........(thinking....OUCH!!!!hehe)Got a busy day....but I got snagged at the "can't use a butterfly stamp" sooooooo, I'll try to fit this in a little later!!! Thanks Melody for the brain teaser and for filling in for Jen!! (by the way...hope you are healing fast Jen!!!)
Wow, what a great challenge. I will try to come up with something. I just have to break down the box first. mental block, so yeah, this is good for me. This way I can figure out how to use stamps to do other things with. HE-HE
What a great idea for a challenge! All of the butterflies look amazing!! here is mine, I used the hearts from Simply Said:
(still pending as of 11:05est) Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I almost didn't do this challenge because I didn't think I had any stamps that would work, but after looking at all the great samples you did, I decided *If they can do it, so can I!!* Thanks for all the inspiration!! Here's my TERRIFIC BUTTERFLY
