Somehow I've managed to avoid the addiction to patterned paper. Maybe this challenge will be the push I need. |
How have you managed? I prolly have 2000 sheets, give or take a few....
According to MapQuest it would only take you 32 hours and 16 minutes!

This challenge sounds like fun. I looked at my paper,Oh, I hate to cut into it, but once I start maybe I won't mind so much. Nice to have lots of time for this big project. Thanks Jen.

This should be fun! I buy patterned paper every time it's on sale, so I have enough to last a lifetime. : )

As long as it's just one sheet of 12x12 paper, you can use one or both sides of the paper. You decide. Please just put in the comments section that it is double sided so we don't think you used 2 sheets. ;) Thanks!

What if you don't have a digital camera? Not all of us do, and there's only so many items one can fit on the scanner at one time.

Sorry. There are projects involved with this too and most would not work for a scanner.
I just want to add that there have been many challenges, weekly and VSN, that I have not been able to participate in because I don't have the materials. It happens sometimes. Maybe you will be able to join the next holiday challenges.

This looks like fun! I stocked up on some beautiful Chatterbox paper at a local warehouse sale!! Now to decide which of the beauties to use!
One question though, would Snap Stamps be considered a set or the non-included sentiment? Thanks!

Not to sound snide, but you assume people will be intertested in participating in future challenges when discriminated against? I *was* looking forward to this week's LS challenge, but will no longer be participating in them. Having "limited supplies" is one thing; being required to have a digital camera another thing altogether.

this sounds great, jen!! sorry that SOME people want to make it not fun, but your challenge does require you to be able to upload PROJECTS, which just can't be done(usually) w/ a scanner. i, too, have not been able to participate in a lot of challenges (not just LSC) because i didn't have the supplies or whatever - not the end of the world and i certainly didn't take it personally!!! looking forward to participating THIS TIME!!!!

Jen, you do an awesome job every single week - this is no exception - well, as a matter of fact, I image this one took a lot of time for you personally - and while working too. It's unfortunate that anyone would be ungrateful, but it's a challenge; not a contest. I've never done a OSW and I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all your time and work - you do great - almost every single one of us appreciate you more than you know. Mega thanks - and I'm off to play!

I am sooo sorry that a bit of negativity snuck/sneaked ??? in here. I have not participated in many of the challenges, but just waited for the next one to see if I could play. PLAY -- that's the operative word here!

There have been many times that I have not gotten to participate in a challenge because of lack of supplies of one kind or another. I have only done one this week for that very reason. It is frustrating but it just makes me want to go out and get more "stuff". Keep up the good work, Jen.

I normally stay away from giving my input on this stuff but Wow! How does a fun daily challenge turn into this?!?! I had a feeling I should PM Jen this morning just to say thanks for doing this awesome challenge for us. She has tons going on and yet she took the time to put together this great challenge for us. (Not even mentioning the fact that she is personally providing a gift for this when there is no obligation to do so)
I would hope that people would not make it a personal issue and make this unpleasant for everyone involved, especially the hostess. I've been on this site just a few months but have found limitless inspiration and so many wonderful people here. However, lately there seems to be an undercurrent of negativity directed at the hostesses of the challenges. They do this because they enjoy it, we all do it because we enjoy it right? We all seem to share the same passion for this craft so can we please just enjoy doing it.
BTW - I couldn't participate in 2 challenges this week due to lack of supplies, wouldn't it be nice it we all had limitless budgets...

Ditto!!
This is all about fun and challenging yourself. Not about uploading. I've done several challenges that I didn't upload and some I haven't done at all because I'm fairly new at this and don't have the necessary supplies. But these challenges help me try new and creative things and isn't that what they are about?
Huge thanks to you, Jen!!

jen, you are doing an awesome job and everyone appreciates it.
btw~if you do not have a digital camera, you can take the pics with a regular camera and when you develop the film have the pics put on a disc. or...scan the pic itself. just food for thought!

Thanks for answering my question Jen! I was hoping you'd say the snap stamps were a sentiment!
As for the digital camera , um, ..issue - I don't personally own one either. My dad has one I know he will let me borrow, though! It's not a big deal to me if I don't always have the supplies for a challenge, sometimes it all works out anyway! Thanks for the fun challenge, Jen...now I just gotta get started on it!

Whoa Nelly........ why don't you get creative and make smaller items that could fit in the scanner? There is no limit on card sizes so you could make note card sized cards and smaller flat non card items.
Jen is one of the sweetest people you'll find here on SCS and to say she's picking on anyone or intentionally leaving anyone out is just plain silly. This is for fun and she's put alot of thought and work (did everybody see her samples!!!) into it, as she does each week.
I'm Jen's #1 fan (can ya tell?)

Jen,
Thanks so much for the challenge, I know what I'll be doing this weekend. Does a tag count as a non-card item? I am thinking Halloween!

I just learned that to "scan" a 3d item, you can put an open box over it and it'll scan it just fine. That might work for you.

Jen,
I think we all want you to know that we think you do a great job!! I am so dense when it comes to loading pictures from my digital on to the computer that I am going to just take a picture or pictures then scan them in. As low tech as I am, I cannot wait to participate! Thanks again Jen--you are doing a wonderful job. Let's just have FUN doing this!

THANK YOU, Jen, for putting this great challenge together! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with! DH is out for the night (supervision duty at his school), so it's just me and my stamps and the 12x12 paper I bought just for this challenge. What could be better?!
Jen, you do so much to help make SCS the great place it is. Please know how much you're appreciated!!!

I am having so much fun with this. I typically don't want to "waste" my patterned paper; I may become a reformed horder. I've made 6 items so far and I still have more than half of my sheet--yippee!
