LSC56 - It's about time!

*** Thank yous go out to all SCSers who participated in the teen boys challenge a couple of weeks ago and sent cards to Keiki Cards. Annette has started to receive the cards and she is very thankful. SCSers are a wonderful and giving group of people. Thank you! ***

This week is all about time. We live in a fast paced world and there just doesn't seem to be enough time anymore. This challenge will help us practice stamping quickly and choosing designs that can be done quickly. If you're like me, there's always a birthday that you have forgotten or a thank you you'd like to get out in the mail in the morning. This will also be a good exercise for VSN that starts in a few hours. After this, VSN time limits will be a piece of cake!

Time Limit: 20 minutes or less

Theme: birthday, thank you, or any every day type of card

Stamps: any (Ladies, you can use your BG stamps this week!) :D

cardstock and ink: any

embellishments: any

If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

Please remember to put LSC56 in the keyword box when you upload. Some people go right to the gallery and search with the keyword to see our cards.

If you need help with uploading your card to the gallery or posting a link, click here!

Here are some 20 minute or less samples I whipped up. I can't wait to see your awesome creations when I get home from work. Thanks for playing!

I thought I'd check this before heading off to bed! Dang girl...it'll take me that long to coordinate paper supplies and ink! LOL! Jeannesome pointers please!
Okay tomorrow I hope to get to this, not like itll take much time but I havent done Julias challenge yet either!

Jeanne S 03-23-2006 07:10 PM

Woo hoo! I'm going to do mine tonight so I don't have to wait until after bowling in the morning :)

reneejul1 03-23-2006 07:15 PM

WOOOHOOO - was hoping you would post early - will get on this first thing in the morning!

luvtostampstampstamp 03-23-2006 07:20 PM

Oh yikes, you don't want to know how long it took me to put together a card to make 5 of for a swap!

Jeanne S 03-23-2006 07:42 PM

Here's mine. I already had this set out for my Christmas Card challenge cards I was working on tonight:

Jen, thanks for the challenge and especially for posting early. I can use my sleep time to think of a design...since that is usually what takes me half a day to come up with anyway. Or, better yet...I'll just get some well needed sleep and CASE your ideas! LOL...I'm off to bed so I can get some sleep before the grandsons wake up at Oh dark thirty in the morning. Hopefully, I will get a chance to do this over the weekend, but if not, I will definitely get to it some time on Monday. Hope all of you stalkers...errrr....ugh....challenge junkies get a good night rest now that Jen has posted early. Nite.

Soozie4Him 03-23-2006 08:01 PM

Awesome challenge - I'm a VERY slow stamper, so this will be good for me! Jeanne - you created that awesome card in 30 minutes? You must be FAST! That would take me almost an hour (without design time - just copying yours, for example! <g>). Maybe if I didn't clean up as I go I could be quicker... <G>

Man! I had to make a card for DD's student teacher's birthday. It's already sealed. Took me 15 or less to make. Guess i'll just have to stamp more tomorrow!

sherristampsalot 03-23-2006 08:53 PM

cindy501 03-24-2006 03:26 AM

Jerri Kay 03-24-2006 03:52 AM

Jen, after yesterday's challenge, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming up with this one! This card took me all of 10 minutes to put together. It's a thank you card for a special friend.

Julia, we don't have time to stalk this morning after the challenge you posted yesterday. Everyone's up early and stamping! (hehe, I actually got five done last night and uploaded! Phew, did that take a long time with everyone trying to upload last night.)

jsbrooketrout 03-24-2006 03:57 AM

Here's mine! You gotta love background stamps to kick a quick card up a notch!! If only you could clean up in 20 minutes after making a quick card!! LOL! Here's mine:

dawnmercedes 03-24-2006 03:58 AM

Okay, now this really is the perfect challenge today. I have a sick daughter that needs to go to the doctors. Since it's not quite 8 am, I could actually make 3 cards before the office opens. Hehe. But probably this will have to wait till nap time. Why do Fridays get so busy??

lacyquilter 03-24-2006 04:01 AM

Great challenge, Jen. I'm so glad it's already posted, because I really don't have TIME to stalk today. I was up till 1:00 working on a couple for Julia's challenge. Didn't realize it was so late & could barely keep my eyes open to upload (probably left half the stuff off on the card recipes), so I didn't come over to check here... just went straight to bed. I will definitely play on this one! Thanks for posting early.

luvsstampinup 03-24-2006 04:10 AM

your quick card

Jeanne, this is a great card! I love those backgrounds also...can you order online or did you order from someone you know? Also, I noticed you used petal point chalk...how do those work, how do you use them? Are they like pastels or different. Thanks in advance for the info...just whenever you have a few minutes, there is no rush.

nmslmomto3 03-24-2006 04:29 AM

morning ladies, I am up a bit late due to having my doc appointment today, but wow, love this challenge, I tend to have a hard time getting started making a card, and changing elements around and such, I hope to stamp this weekend while I recover, I love this, and since I have not made a card for my MIL yet this week, this will be a good challenge for it.

dawnmercedes 03-24-2006 04:40 AM

Did it!

Thanks for the quick challenge, Jen.

Masculine Parading Butterflies

I'm off to call the doctor's office. And it's snowing here in MI. Let's hope the doctor's office and drug store can be this fast!

Pink-fish 03-24-2006 04:53 AM

Here's my card

kellymartin 03-24-2006 05:34 AM

Here's my first one...I hope to get another one in :)

To make sure I didn't cheat, I started 15 minutes before I had to leave to get my daughter from the bus stop...now that's incentive!

I'm in a retro phase...love this color combo...great challenge Jen!

dtstampz 03-24-2006 05:54 AM

Hey, ladies! Fun challenge, and there should be lots of cards for this one. It would also be nice if you could post any helpful hints for making a quick card. I'm a sloooow stamper, and need all the help I can get! ;)

dawnmercedes 03-24-2006 05:58 AM

Here's a tip:

Don't start your timer until you have an idea in your head!

colcyr 03-24-2006 05:59 AM

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=45267

Here's mine. Is it cheating if I already had it in my gallery?? :) It was a super easy card.

stampscout 03-24-2006 06:20 AM

Tip: Use some scraps.

star 03-24-2006 06:23 AM

Here's one that I had in my stash of cards (I really don't even have time today to be uploading!!....now to put it into high gear to make up for this time!! LOL!! This is still pending as of 7:23pt//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=246372&cat=500&ppuser=68885

star 03-24-2006 06:27 AM

OOPS!! Let's try that link again!

lacyquilter 03-24-2006 06:38 AM

Here's a 2nd one: sunny chick

lacyquilter 03-24-2006 06:42 AM

TIP: Pre-cut some of your card stock into 1/2 sheets & 1/4 sheets. You can also pre-score & fold the 1/2 sheets, so they are ready to use as a card base. Another (I'm still working on this one) is to organize your scraps, so they are handy & easy to use.
