Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Today's challenge is to give up those scissors and let something else do the cutting. Fire up your Cricut, Eclips, Cameo (etc) and show us what you can carve out of paper using those electronic machines. With so many funtastic files and machines out there, it's time to move beyond basic shapes!!
Edited: If you're not plugged in...Feel free to use dies as well. You are all so creative and think outside of the box when you don't have the specific supplies! Just stay away from scissors!
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

I have boat loads of stamping supplies, but a cutting machine is not one of them. I'll have to sit this one out as well.

Here's my card. I'll try later in the day as well.

Bummer. This will be the first week day challenge I've missed in five weeks! I'm not interested in investing $$ in an electronic cutting machine with all its accessories.

I'm out too, Like Sallie, I have no desire for one of the electronic machines. I have lots of dies and punches though..... Maybe we should get to use a die or punch that is in a shape other than like square, round or oval.... Just a thought...
This is the first free day I've had in MONTHS, so I was looking forward to playing, but I'm another non-techno girl! Maybe I'll "cheat" and use pre-made diecuts or something (I didn't cut them out, so it could still count, right?)

TO DAWN
Was just singing off when this message popped up! THANKS for letting us know dies cuts would be okay! Have a great day and I look so forward to viewing the gallery tonight. Gabby
LOL, I must be a rebel because I never have a guilty conscience if I fudge on the challenge a bit. I use these challenges to get motivated every day, and I never worry about the challenge police. Hey, this is just for fun, isn't it???
I will be thinking out of the box with all the rest of you because I don't have the handfree cutter either. But I LOVE my cuttlebugs (I have two of those - one for cutting and one for embossing!)
Now, I'll go browse through my stash and find some diecuts I may have purchased that can be used.

Thinking I'd do punch art but that wouldn't be hands free cutting - you need your hands to punch the punch! What to do?!?!?!? I have a Cricut - just not wanting to pull it out.
I made a quick card using my Cricut Celebrations Cartridge. Today would have been my sister's birthday (she passed away several years ago) so I thought a birthday card would be fitting.
Well, I have to say that I am so surprised at all of the crafters that feel as I do. I am not into buying another machine. The Cuttlebug and scissors will do for me. I think I might have a couple of die cuts......gotta check it out.

Dawn- awesome challenge, I love using punches for my cards! I made a tag with my Creative Memories' punches- Mickey, fancy heart, and tag maker. My star was from my stamping friends, along with the black paper and the red metallic paper. We had such good times at Disney World when my kids were younger!
Here's I Love Mickey

Now she's a crafter!! Challenges should always be guilt free! (Even if your laundry is piling up or you need to start the dishwasher!)

I guess I'd easily qualify as a crafter, then. I'd have to add completing work assignments to that list, Dawn. 'Respond to email, reschedule a meeting, finish a proposal, etc'. Stamping is much more uplifting! Thanks.
