Amys Theme Challenge What is special about you! I think it is soooo important for kids to be reminded why they are special. This week Id like you to make a page for your kiddo(s) and have input from the whole family as to what makes them special. You can have each person write a small journaling section if theyre old enough, or you can ask them and write/type it yourself. Get creative, but most of all, pass out those warm fuzzies!
OR
Cindys Theme Challenge My Best Friend Scrap your very very best friend. This can be a girlfriend, a pet, a husband, a child, or anything else that you consider to be your best friend.
Thats not hard right? Well, here is the challenge. Page MUST have HEARTS somewhere on it! There MUST also be a photo of your Best Friend The page must also have jounaling, and a date!
Scan or take a photo or your work, upload with SBTC5 (no spaces) in the keywords, and post it here for us all to see.
Tip: If you like you can type what your journaling says in the notes section of your upload in your galley.
Be remember there are no uploads on Sundays, as the wonderful ladies that approve uploads need a day off too!

Ohh I might be able to do this! Although one of the kiddos has a book about why he is so special! (Literally!) I will work on this in the morning. I am so EXHAUSTED from waiting all day! hehe! That and I have an early day! I just remembered I am going to have to go to Walmart before anyone decides to show up to scrap!
Love, love, love, the why you're special theme Amy. I'll try, but if it doesn't happen this week, it will happen! This is a layout that will always be treasured. Thanks for the great idea!
Rhonda
This one is going to be fun but it might make me cry!

I'm new to the scrapbooking challenges, but I happened to read the theme challenge. I made this 6x6 last year, and it fits the theme! This is not an official entry as it has no journaling, but I just thought I'd share it!

Here's my best friend page that I just uploaded and then saw where we aren't supposed to upload on Sunday...oops! Hopefully they won't kick me out for not reading the directions first. I'm as bad as the kids!
Amy I loved your challenge idea but unfortunately I already scrapped similar pages in both my daughters' books about 6 months ago. (I'm only just now redoing their baby pictures and they're 13 & 16.) I included a lot about my pregnancy as well being they are both literally miracle babies.
I would encourage everyone to do this in their children's books because my daughters have read those pages in their books a million times already and you can see the tears in their eyes as they do. They are reminded very quickly how much they were wanted and loved. I'm so glad I made those pages and you will be too!
Jen, Heather & Stephanie want to know AND so do I, as I'd like to get some scrampin' done today, if we can use someone else's best friend (like our kiddos) or if we can include family members as our best friends...like sisters, etc. I have several different directions I can go with this, so what do you guys say is OK and not OK? THANKS guys...lovin' these challenges!!!;-)

Question??
What size are the theme challenges supossed to be? Can they be 6 x 6? Are they to be 2 page layouts like the sketch challenge?
Thanks,
Terry F.
Hi Terra! It's my understanding that they can be whatever size you want them to be. You only need to follow the stipulations that are listed on the oringinal post(s). The sketch challenges, however, you must follow closely...which is hard for me to do most of the time!! I guess I like doing things MY OWN way! Hehehe!!

You can make them any size as long as the layout is there! Welcome!
I don't have my baby girl yet...so can I do a page about why my sisters are special...will that count?
Sure, I'll take that! Although you could talk about why you wanted her so bad, and maybe you and your families could write what their wishes are for them instead?
Okay, I would like to do the kiddo challenge.. .but can these be my thoughts of why he/she is so special or must the family be included. I only ask because none of my family is near me.. and hubby is deployed for another 34 days.

I am only 13 so if I am not old enough to join your contest that is ok. I just wanted to share my pictures too. Mom (Ducki) said she thought it would be okay for me to have an account to put my pictures in my own gallery. Here are my pages.
Hi,
I am new to the daily challenges. I would like to know when they are posted for each day? I don't want to be working on last weeks challenge if I decide to do one if you know what I mean. Are they posted that day or sometime ahead of that day before they are due? Are they posted all at once for that coming week? I'm sorry I haven't noticed any dates.

If you just go under "Splitcoast Challenges", it will tell you which challenges are posted on what day. Like, Mondays are the technique lover's challenge, Tuesdays are the color combo challenge, yada yada yada.
The scrapbook challenges are posted on Saturdays.
Sometimes they are posted "early" if the hostess of the challenge happens to be up at midnight (ha ha) or will be out of town the day it's supposed to be posted, etc.
HTH!

I went ahead and uploaded my pages to the gallery. For future reference how do I post a link to the page in the gallery?
I assume you mean post a link from this forum. The easiest way I think is do open up your page then copy the web address for that page, open another window for this forum and past the web address, repeat with the other pages. At least this is the way I do it, there may be some other ways.
