Mind Your Elders! I wanted to continue the theme of the "About Me" album, but something that also pulls in other people that are special in your life.
So for this week's theme challenge I need you to scrap yourself with that very special person in your life. Do you have that special older person that you've always looked up to? Whether it's a mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandparent, brother or sister, friend...basically anyone who is very special in your life. It is important that you have a picture of yourself WITH that person, but if that's not possible, then try adding a picture of yourself AND a picture of your special person together on one layout! This person can be alive or deceased of course. YOU MUST: Please include in your journaling WHY this person is so special to you...WHY do you look up to this person...WHAT has this person meant to you in your life. I think it's VERY important for my kids to know those people that have impacted my life in some way and I think the perfect spot for a layout like this would be in the "about me" album!! (I think this is a super great idea to get started and I've already started mine!)
Something to try: I love using the chipboard stuff and thought it would be great decorated with my favorite BG paper!! I also added a few embellishments to mine as well! So get that chipboard out and see what you can do with it!! Don't have any chipboard? Try tracing an image and just use regular cardboard and decorate it! Stamp it, color it, cover it with BG paper, add embellishments to it...just get creative!!
Tip: I thought it would be neat since I scrapped my pictures to have a vintage element to it, so I used vintage materials and used my chipboard with vintage paper and embellishments on it. I sanding the edges of the chipboard with the BG paper on it to get a weathered look. Even if your pictures are NOT vintage, doesn't mean you can't use vintage type themes...so let's see all the vintage you can put into your layouts!! Get creative! Have fun!!
Vicki, GREAT theme - totally am doing this one, off to hunt for the photos!! My album is going to have one side me and the other side DH on each theme and I even have an idea for his already! LOVE the 'tip' and the 'to try' also! Thanks, lady!
I can't wait to see what you creative gals come up with on this!! I thought that although it technically IS about "us", I thought adding you're special person should be in your album too!!;)

Vicki, thank you for the great theme challenge this week. I got my page done, but am waiting for some pictures from DH's mom to complete his page (I'm doing one for me and one for him for our '{Self} Centered album)
Here's my page - apologies for the obnoxious color combination - Blue and Gold were our school colors! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Still working to make my journaling a bit more self-reflective, but it's done, even if it's not perfect!
I think your page is perfect!!;) BLUE & GOLD? Those are OUR school colors too...believe it or not!!! (I did a page a while back with my son's tassel thing...don't know if you remember or not.) I love your layout and I hope to see more of you and DH's books!! What an awesome thing to do! Thanks for playing with us!!:-D

Ok, mine is done...not very vintage looking...but didn' t review the post before I started. That is me with my uncle though...so I followed the rules there. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Finally done. A page about my grandmothers and aunts who have been role models for me. The journaling is personal, so it's hidden under the photo. I combined this with the sketch challenge for the week. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
