Heart FAVORITES: The Best of 2010

Happy 2011!
Welcome to our champagne gala, where we are toasting our top nominations for 2010. Instead of our normal Favorites thread, this week we are doing a year-end retrospective of the best our SCS Gallery has to offer. Everyone can join in; check my next post if you need directions. With over a quarter of a million Gallery uploads in 2010, it was a real challenge to narrow it down to a single list. In chronological order, here are some of my Favorites of the entire year.

1-7-10. Love the way this fence pops out of the circle frame.
WT252 Winter Eve by justwritedesigns

1-23-10. A pair of candy boxes with tops that twist closed.
Twist Top Box by Becca Stamps

2-5-10. Punch art at its most romantic.
Romantic Valentine's Day Chickadees by anfimem

2-14-10. It doesn't need to be complicated to be beautiful.
Wishing for Spring by hobbywoman

2-22-10. This cool winter scene was created with a brayer and masking.
Olympic Color Challenge by LeisaJane

2-23-10. This guitar card is so realistic, I can almost hear those strings.
Guitar Card by labullard

4-23-10. I'm a sucker for stair step cards, and this one is such fun.
IC229 Happy Birthday Tommy! by ctorina

4-26-10. I don't need to tell you who made this daisy teapot card.
Sadie My Lady! by Mothermark

5-18-10. This one makes me want to punch some Bazzill cardstock.
CC271 Trio by Biggan

5-21-10. It was hard picking only one from Karen, but I decided on this.
IC233 - TREE OF HOPE by Karen B Barber

6-8-10. This masculine card is a standout.
Whitetail Deer by Rox71

7-8-10. Sometimes half of a flower is better than a whole.
WT278 very yellow flower by jaydekay

9-6-10. Extraordinary colors.
Happy Birthday! by gbedwright

9-26-10. Elegant punched blossoms with pearls.
Just for You - Sallie !! by AudreyAnn

12-16-10. This is the gorgeous card that gave me the idea to do a "Best of 2010" thread, when Terri (Brat Cards) commented that it could be her favorite card of the year.
~I Heard the Bells.... by patsmethers

What are your top Favorites from 2010? Everyone is invited to add links to special cards or projects that were uploaded during the past 12 months. I'm counting on you to mention so many other outstanding cards. Post your links and let's celebrate the level of talent here on SCS.

Arrow If you are new to the FAVORITES threads, please read.

Each week we have newcomers to these threads. EVERYONE is welcome to join in. The more participation we have, the more interesting this thread will be.

---

Want to post a Thank You? Please do not use the Quote button.

Instead of quoting, scroll down and either type your response in the Quick Reply box or click the Go Advanced button. This thread will be easier to read without all the same link lists quoted over and over again. We've had terrific cooperation on this request. Thanks!

Optional: Pay It Forward. When you say "thank you," you're encouraged to also link to at least one of your own Favorites. This idea started with a suggestion from APandi, seconded by ChaosMom.

---

Was your card mentioned in this thread? Here's how to find it.

Let's say that you find out your card has been mentioned in this thread, but by the time you check it, there are dozens of links. Here's how to find yours:
1. At the top of the screen, click the drop-down box for Search this Thread.

2. Type in your screen name and click the Go button. Since most of the links include screen names, yours will probably show up in the search results.
---

Need help linking your Favorites? Follow these steps.

Make sure all the cards that you want to link are already in your SCS Gallery Favorites.
1. Load this week's Favorites thread in your first browser tab. Scroll down and click the Go Advanced button. In the Reply to Thread box, type what you want to say.

2. Open a second browser tab and load your SCS Gallery Favorites to display the thumbnails.

3. Right-click on a thumbnail and select Copy Shortcut (or Copy Link Location).

4. Go to the first tab again. Right-click and select Paste. Hit the Enter key twice to separate each link.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as many times as you need for your links.

6. Click the Preview Post button and check that all your links work. Then click the Submit Reply button.
Notes: For browsers without tabs, you can open separate windows. On a Mac, use Ctrl+click rather than right-click.

When you copy and paste links as explained above, the screen name is automatically part of the link. If you would rather add links a different way, please include the exact screen name so that the person can find it by searching this thread.

I found this really intimidating!
I could list loads, but when I looked through the two pages I have (purged my Favourites recently), these are the ones that jumped out at me.

Auntie Susan - Wish Upon a Starfish

babitoons - Ice Skating Flopsey

I love rubber - For the Love of Daisies

BC Sherrie's Happy Camping Journal still makes me smile every time I look at it.

Rox 71 - Flowered Mosaic. I have several of Roxie's, this is my favourite of all from this year.

Biggan - A Bunch of Roses. Again I have several of Biggan's, so I chose this one.

Petal Pusher's Simply Sponging.

Wishing a happy, healthy (if possible) and creative New Year to you all.

Amaranthine has a gallery that just blows me away. She doesn't upload cards all that often but when she does, it is a WOW.

The Phantom Schooner is a favorite this year. One of those "How did she do that?" cards.

Any watercolor of JovialJudi's is exquisite...such a sweet gal with such a HUGE talent!

Get Well Soon is a beauty.

Thanks so much, Judi, for adding my Olympic Color Challenge card to your list...you've got me doing my happy dance!

I had 11 pages of favorites for 2010. It was so hard to choose, but I've got it down to these 7 very favorites:

Way back from last Feb is this lovely card with lots of texture, mixture of patterns, and most of all, vibrant color. I just love to look at it, and the chair really does look like velvet. - Velvet Paisley Chair by Christine Creations

Also from last Feb, even though I'm not usually one for feminine frills, this beauty is perfectly put together. It's like a party dress that has just enough eye-catching touches. - Happy Birthday! by gbedwright

This next card is an Easter gem from last March. I don't know if it's the color combo, gingham paper, or expert quilling that all come together to make it fresh as a...well, you know. - Quilled Easter Flowers by cbuswell

This Challenge card from May is just an outstanding shadowbox nature scene. Some may see it as masculine, but I would love to have this card. It's one of those cards that set me in a tizzy to buy the stamp set used...but I never did get it. I love everything about this card! - P3 Challenge 05-01-10 Shadowbox by lorrinda

This next card is from June and is just perfect in every way. I love the colors, papers, and the framing showcases the image in the best possible way. Such a creative beauty from a master! - Birthday Owl by Beate

Next is a tag from Sept that is just a lovely combination of materials, textures, patterns, and colors. Even though I've never met the one who created this, I don't know why she didn't send it to me...it was obviously made for me!??! This tag screams Leisa,...well to me it does anyway. Love it! - Christmas Tag - Joy by Chupa

And finally from December is what I think is my all time #1 favorite of all of 2010!!! This incredible beauty is all the more endearing because of the obvious love that went in to it. If this card were in my house, I'd sit and stare at it for hours. It's perfection in every way.-

Happy New Year to all! Thank you so much for the inspiration!!

Thanks so much Pat S. For mentioning my "Porridge the Pretty Piggy" card. I had kind of forgotten about that one!
You made my day! Such an honor to have been mentioned as one of the year's faves!
I am paying it forward with a few for now and will be back later with more when I have more time.

"Let's Hurry Daddy" by Jaydekay

Oh Wowzers! I can't believe I made it to the annual favorites thread. Thank you so much Meg, for mentioning my Sit Dog card. You made my millenium.

So many great crafters inspired me this year. Here are just a few.

Ready for Autumn by cmf1216 - gorgeous colors and coloring. Love all her details on this adorable stamp.

Easter Pail by April Rose - so adorable and sweet.

Have a Micey Day by littlepigtails - Another sweet cutie.

Daisey Chain by snail - simple goodness

Dance Like No One is Watching by Quixotic - Oh my. The colors and coloring are just stunning.

Wow...how exciting to actually have been a favorite of last year! Judi, thanks for letting me know and Riley, thanks for mentioning me. This makes me realize that I need to get back to my roots and spend more time on SCS. With that being said, here are a couple of favorites I had:

Poppies by Vanessa Menhorn: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/.../photo/1670341 (Love the colors)

Medallion Birthday by Happy Now: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/.../photo/1593137
(Once again, love the colors)

Sorry I only have the links...I wasn't sure how to do as everyone did above. Happy New Year's All!

Thank you, Vicki, for including my card. I'm so honored.

I haven't had much time to surf the gallery lately, but I'm always stunned at the beauties Biggan makes.
