Exclamation help! think i might be preggie...after tubal ligation!

Ok guys here goes. I'm almost 39, I have 3 kids, was planning on going back to work next year AND I had a tubal ligation when I had my last daughter almost 5 years ago!!!!!!!! Took two tests so far they are pos.
How many of you have heard of this? Were they healthy pregnancies? I know it could very well be an ectopic preg or cysts. Hopefully I can go to my dr. on Monday and they can do an utrasound and maybe find this out!!!!
And what ABOUT my dr.???? I know he warned us that it's not 100% but come on! He SAID he cut, tied and cauterized!!!! If this is viable, then there sure is some divine intervention going on!!!!!

Thanks guys!

Well i certainly would absolutely adoringly love another child. I just got back from the ER, hoping to get an answer to see if it was ectopic or normal. Well, as with my luck, I still really don't know if it's a viable pregnancy
They said it's a sack and it is indeed in my uterus, so it's not in my tubes. BUT, because it's still so early in the preg, it's just a sack and they say it's too early to tell if it's "real" yet!
SO, I don't want to get all excited about having another baby, to just be saddened to find out if it's nothing. KWIM? I'm not explaining to well, sorry. I only slept about 2 hours last night and I was at the ER for 5 freaking hours!!!

I'm not sure what to say! I hope that you get a definite answer very soon...and I hope it is the one you are seeking.

Yes, I have heard of this happening. It happened to my mom's cousin. And it was a healthy pregnancy. It was several years ago. If you would like I can check with my mom to get more information.

I have a friend who not only had a tubal ligation, her husband had a vasectomy... Boy, were they surprised to have healthy TWINS a couple years later! It can happen - LOL!

Good luck - I hope the outcome is the one that's right for you!

About not sleeping... I have a stamp that says "When you go to bed at night, give all your troubles to God.... He's going to be up all night anyway." Try it, it might just work and if you are indeed pregnant you'll need the sleep.

How are things going??

When I was pregnant 12 years ago, the day I turned 35 I was 16 weeks pregnant. I was at that time concidered Advance Maternal Age. Lots of things chnaged regarding freqency of dr appts, ultra sounds and tests. Is it the same now a days? I would think at the age of 39 the doc would get you in the office ASAP. If the sack is empty did they (doc at er) do and HCG blod test??

Hope you are doing well.

leslie, they did do an hcg test on sun. at that point i was just barely 5 weeks and my number was at 3800. i'm going to my dr. tomorrow to have another hcg test done and hopefully schedule another sono to see if they can see anything more than a sac. i'm trying to not get too worried yet because the er doc and my nurse said that this is all normal for being so early yet! but thats easier said than done!
the er doc was even trying to make me feel better saying not to worry to much about my age! cool!
thanks all for all your concerns and support. i will come back after my apt. and let you all know whats going on! my nurse says that my dr. wants to see a number of at least 5000, praying for that number!!!!

Ok guys, so it's the story of my life. Wait and see! My hcg number did go from 3800 to 8100 so that is going up. BUT, the sono still shows just a sac. No yolk, no heartbeat. I'll be at 6 weeks tomorrow. The sono tech said that by 7 weeks is when they should see a heartbeat.
So now it's a waiting game!!!!!!

God please give us some patience!!!!!!

Deanne, I keep checking and I feel impatient waiting to find out and you seem to be handling it so good. Are you hoping you are pregnant? I think you are but you might be afraid to just come out and say it. I have said prayers for you. I hope you know soon.

Oh Lois, you are so sweet. It is such a nice thought to know someone, somewhere out there is thinking of you. Words can't say how much I appreciate the thoughts!!!!!
It's very weird, surreal. There is a part of me that wants it to be viable. But then as soon as I start having good feelings, I get scared. Scared that this will turn into nothing and I will have those feelings of regret, loss, etc. Then I start to think, geese, I'm almost 39, my kids are growing up fast, can we handle another baby at this point in our lives. Then I go back to feeling that every baby is a blessing........
UGH!!!!! This is definately a most trying time for us. But I guess we just roll with it. It helps that it is a long busy weekend. Hopefully it will go fast!

I just saw this and wanted to let you know, that yes, this happens. The longest I have seen is 15 years post tubal ligation. Normal deliveries, Normal pregnancies.
Sorry, I work in the operating room!!

Congratulations to your family! This baby will be SUCH a blessing! I have a friend who had a uterine ablation AND was on birth control pills and got pregnant. She had an uneventful pregnancy (which shocked the doctors - they kept expecting her to miscarry) and has the sweetest little girl. They cannot imagine their lives now without this little miracle. I know it will be the same with your new little one!

Default BABIES ARE HEAVEN SENT!!!

I love babies!! I want 100 babies. ( No breast feeding though. )

Can't wait to hear the sex and names you are considering. Are you going to find out the sex, or do you want to be surprised??

Praying for you and your little miracle.

Deanne, this is awesome news. I will be praying with you all the way through. You better keep us up to date on everything and shouldn't we get to pick the name?
I hope your hubby gets his boy. That would be icing on top of the cake.

WOW! you guys are all totally freaken awesome!!!!! isn't the stamping community the bomb digity!!!(a quote from my 4 year old)
Ok, I can't tell you how amazing it feels to know that so many people are caring for you, and strangers no less! I know that I am very truely blessed
So, we DO want to find out the sex! My husband joked with the sono tech and said, "I think I see a weenis"!!!
And I will abso poso have no other choice than to keep you ladies updated. Your in for the duration weather you like it or not As far as you helping to pick the names, go ahead. Throw some out at me! We like unique, gaelic, fun names. If it's a girl, it has to end with the long E sound, look at my other girls names. If it's a boy, the middle name will be Edward. I'd like to say it's because of Twilight, but it's my DH's middle name!
And cajunstamper, holy wow!!! That is some MAJOR divine intervention!!!!
Thanks again for all your prayers guys, I'll be in often! I'm addicted to the net!
