Thanks...I found a mason jar topper left over (ran out of jars) from the 27 I made and will experiment with it....and may just try it on a tin recycled from from Hodgepodge Hardware from years ago SU.
Two maybe with luck 3 years till cataracts will be ready to remove, diabetes has done no damage to eyes, no macular or glaucoma showing up and high blood pressure is not taking a big toll so I really have nothing to complain about-----except the bill....$320 for exam and new lenses---keeping frame I have for at least one more year(this will be year 5 for them). Oh the joys of aging---but it is much better than the alternative.

I decorate our house. 2 of our 3 children live in warm weather locations so when they come home to MN for the holidays, it really needs to be Christmas-y! I put a few things out today and will get the tree up soon as DD2, Sil and 1 yr. old will be here Dec. 5- 10. But no snow in the forecast for them, Christmas =snow in their minds. And I leave the snowmen decorations out long past Christmas!

Good news for me. DD2 asked if she could decorate for Christmas. Happy to have the help! (Both of my girls are teenagers.)

I now put things away by location instead of category which makes it easier to decorate. In years where we're traveling or if I'm overwhelmed and making Christmas simpler, I put up far less and this has made it much simpler.
I was early this year too - and it's nice! I'm an extreme minimalist (except for art supplies) so we do two trees - one in a front window because it's nice to drive into the driveway and see and one in our family room. Our house is tiny, so two trees make it super festive. I don't do much else though - garlands, etc. are an invitation for poisonous insects to hide in

Good morning everyone. I am trying to plan out my day and squeeze some inky time in somewhere! I have the girls' swim team coming for an early breakfast after their 6am Saturday morning practice. Let me tell you, swimmers can EAT! Requested menu is sticky buns, scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns and fruit. Still have a bit more cleanup to do and will shop later. My sticky buns rise overnight in the frig so they're actually pretty easy.

Not much time for stamping lately with the holiday and travel, but squeezed in a little time last night to finish a bday card for my dad. It's a surprise pop-up card and I've never made one, so it took a long time for me to figure out. Now that I know how to do it, I will definitely make more! Guys like gadget cards.

So the art world has lots of new things for me to stumble around with. Even in my photography I avoid the fancy/fun things in photoshop elements.....what I click is what you get....... So long ramble aside----can you do what I asked first??????
I'm sure you can use alcohol inks on top of gesso. However, because gesso is very porous, it will absorb the ink quickly (the same reason you would normally not use Copic markers on watercolor paper), and you will get a completely different look . Because the colors will not spread much, you will get very vibrant colors. Try it on a sample -- just spread some gesso on cardstock, dry it, and add color.

We decorate for Christmas - minimally - tree & stockings, but not much else. And some years, we're fortunate to get the tree decorated. One year, DH put up the tree and added the lights, and no one wanted to put on the ornaments, so we didn't. The kids were teenagers and went through that stage where they thought it was childish. It still looked pretty lit, though.

Hubs and I have been married for 28 years and for that entire time I have off hand anymore said oh, do you want something outside the house like lights??? and the answer is always no... last weekend we went to home depot ( surprise surprise) and he hauled home shatter proof bulbs, lights and a star to decorate a blue spruce in the back yard.

color me amazed. ( he set this up in the rain too)

the house tree is up and decorated in the livingroom and the dog's stocking is hung.

and I bought a poinsettia in a bowl with some greenery at homedepot too.

Default Hi!

Congrats to all of the new winners!

I never decorate the same 2 yrs in a row... depends on what we plan for Christmas - this year, we will all meet in San Diego : ) so, the decorations will be less inside..... We put up the tree, but it has no ornaments on it yet... Nativity set and a few other inside decorations.

Outside- hubby usually does it all, 'cept he broke his leg while we were in Florida a few weeks ago- he was sliding into home base (he was safe)..... So, when my youngest was in town for Thanksgiving, my eldest daughter joined her and took care of it! We always buy garland a a wreath from the boy scouts for outside and add lights to it, some bows and viola!

I took my Mom to the doc today, and we stopped by the Urgent Care to get her INR and she had a TIA on the way in... and she fell down - and she is on a blood thinner, so will have a wicked big hematoma where she fell. Oh Boy!

Congratulations to the latest winners! I left love on all the cards...except SCS wouldn't let me follow the link to the last card so I couldn't leave any love there.

Yes, hopefully this weekend the house will be decorated for Christmas...even though DH's birthday is next weekend.

I'm going to be sure to put more decorations out this year. We cut a tree (this year Dec 9) and set it up right away. But I often forget how many other ways I could decorate.

My grandson and his girlfriend helped me out this year. I use to have decorations in about every room in the house and lots of snowmen. Still have part of my snowmen out and my Christmas tree. Not able to do it all any more. Got my gifts wrapped, working on addressing Christmas cards now. I have over 100 I send out.

Battled discouragement today by cleaning and decorating. Got a couple more areas done and more boxes brought down and staged in the garage. I want to curl up in a ball under a blanket and watch mindless television but still have cleaning to do before the swim team comes for breakfast tomorrow.

We flew from Kentucky to California today to visit a dear friend I met through Splitcoaststampers (Yoorah Lee). I got off the plane, checked my iPhone--and found out that I'm a prize winner!!! A big thank you to all the sponsors, the hostesses, the lovely ladies who helped all of the computer challenged (like me!), and all of you ladies who left love on my gallery. I love SCS!!!

Congrats to all the winners! Just had to catch up on leaving the last couple sets comments. ScorPal is a great tool, love mine and use it every time I make a card!

Swimmers are fed, dishes are done, and as a bonus my house is clean and most of the Christmas decorations are up. Now I am going to nap!

Wonderful breakfast crowd, Gail. Now for your nap and mindless tv watching. You earned it!
