Thanks to all of the prize sponsors and congratulations to all of the winners! Hubby is pulling out boxes of decorations so I guess I will do a little decorating tonight. AND prep some card bases for VSN next weekend.

I just got a thank you From Forgotten 4 Paws for the one card I sent them for the card drive! Wasn’t that nice of them.

Funny true story... hubs hiked from the house through the snow to the mailbox to retrieve a postcard thanking him for his professional looking cards donated to the ( it was the pet people)

he was most surprised.

so, I said I may have used one of his return labels for the outside of the package because, it saved me 2 minutes from having to write it there.
(and not everyone can read the chicken scratch that passes for my handwriting)

Hi all,
I just caught up reading all the chatter and checking out all the new winners' cards. I put out a few Christmas Decorations before we left. Won't be back home until about Dec 15 so I will have to hurry to get the tree up before Christmas. We had some vacation time we had to use up before the end of the year so we came to Las Vegas for 2 weeks. It was one of the places we could go and it was warm versus other places that were options but that are cold this time of year. So we chose Vegas. I haven't been here for about 20 years and boy has it changed. I can't believe how built up it has become. I don't care at all about the gambling etc. of the strip but we did take a long walk today and it was fun to see some of the pretty Christmas decorations. We have been here for three days and this is the first time we actually went over to the Strip! We have some friends (gl1253) coming down in a few days to spent the last week of our time with us. I've looked up a couple of stamping stores that we will have to go check out. I am missing my stamping, but am working on addressing Christmas cards. Hopefully can get them mailed out while we are here.
OK sorry this is long. I am bored. DH is watching football!

Hi Pat, every time I have been to Vegas ( not to gamble to work actually) I never make it into Viva Las Vegas Stamps, but I have the idea it's still open. is that on the to-do list?
Have fun in the warmth!

Default Hi

Happy Sunday! I cannot get to all of the last winners- card #2 leads me to just a picture and not the gallery post.

Mom is OK- just tired. That was a scare and I know will most likely happen again..... once that cascade starts. I am a nurse, and many years in the ICU so I know what to do for a TIA or a stroke- it is just surreal when it is your own Mom! Every day is truly a blessing having her live with us!!!

My hubby is heading to a Bears game today- he has a broken leg from playing baseball....was able to get a disabled sticker for the car and will use Mom's wheelchair. The Bears set the guys up in a handicapped area, all 4 can sit together. It is the two worst teams in football at present- 2 young quarterbacks. The 49ers quarterback grew up in Illinois in a suburb of Chicago also (Arlington Heights), so it will be exciting game no matter who wins IMO : )

Off to eat breakfast, then on to craft room !!!

My list isn't quite as busy. 1. Make anniversary card for card shower. 55th
2. Take my Christmas cards over and put in the church mailboxes.
3. Address cards that will be mailed.
4. Finalize shopping list for food and gifts.
5. Babysit little man ( my Niece's 3 year old) Thursday
6. Organize craft room. That's been on the list for three weeks now!
And whatever else pops up!

If you could see my poor craft/stamp room you would know the name is apt. No more prep for craft fair so I should be able to get it back to workable normalcy this week. But you never know....

I have a wooden sign at the beginning of my craft area that warns “Disaster Area.” Truer words were never inscribed. I fall over my own stuff at least once a day.

I am not short, and I have a duck-in closet... I don't trip over things but, I frequently duck into the closet to grab a box of say burlap strings or something turn around straighten up because, I tend to not slouch and it strains my back to do that and smack my head into the door jamb walking back out ( nearly every single time)

My craft area is a huge mess currently, never did a good cleanup after Falliday Fest and even when the desk is straight it's still a mess down there because I don't have it all organized well. The things that already have a place are easy to out away, but I have things that I've never developed a good system for that just float around down there creating chaos. Goals for the new year! I really need to get a handle on it because I have a scrapbook to do this year as well as some sewing. My mom made Tshirt quilts for her grandchildren's graduations and since she passed away 2 years ago both my brother and I still have children left to graduate, I have taken that on. My DD is also pregnant with our first grandchild, a boy and I want to make some things for him too.

Isnt amazing how things to do expand to fill up our time....someone asked me at the Craft Fair how I managed to "fill up all my leisure time since retirement" and I thought to myself---have you noticed what is on the table? Not to mention the volunteer work at our zoo and through the 4-H program and of course my other love---photography--and then there are the resident(of same town) grandchildren....thank goodness only one is in school ( 7th grade) as I spend many evening attending music concerts, band concerts, and soon a play and basketball games. LOL!

yes, what Catherine said... I think that is the ticket to a happy life to have things to do a reason for your feet to hit the floor in the morning... not all the payments in life are paid in money I think everyone that gives "gets" that one

You should spend an afternoon in Viva Las Vegas stamps-it's like no other craft store. Call ahead so that Stampo can buzz you into the place. Then, tell us what you thought about your experience. Don't miss the Rubber rummage table.

Sabrina, my family is in the planning stages for a trip to Ireland in June. Any suggestions on things to visit that may not be in a tour book? I just want to see the beautiful countryside and hang out in a few pubs but the planners are asking us what we'd like to see.

I'll PM you. Most people pass through Dublin, if you have time to meet for coffee let me know!!

I'd say the biggest factor in planning is to stay aware that while distances might sound small by US standards, unless you're on the highway the roads are also smaller , so don't try to cram too much into one day. Ask Gail!! Her poor DH was pretty tired when we met up on their last evening; he had been the driver in their group.

We had a wonderful time in Ireland traveling with a group from our previous church. The pastor who led the group had been to Ireland other times so he had a pretty ambitious schedule for us. Most of the group was in 2 condos but as add-ons to the group we were at a nice B&B. Every day we drove out from there to whatever we were touring so each day included quite a bit of driving. Main differences in the driving were: driving on opposite side, lack of road names, roundabouts everywhere and the very narrow roads with no shoulders and things like hedges and stone walls right along the road....also some roads where you'd meet up with someone coming towards you and one of you had to back up....and also sheep occasionally! The history was amazing and we saw so many beautiful landscapes, but the driving was very intense.

Thanks so much!!! I'm so excited to win a Misti. And congrats to everyone who played in the Falliday Fest. I loved seeing all the creative creations from all of you talented stampers! And mostly thanks to the organizers and everyone who makes Splitcoast possible. It's my happy place.
