Challenge Title: Christmas Angel using my template. Template in two formats is below the sample angels. In a pdf file and word document.
Hostess: annsforte3 (Ann) Keyword: FF16annsforte3 Date: Monday, October 10, 2016 Welcome to Falliday Fest 2016!! So keeping in mind this tradition, my challenge to you is to make an angel card or ornament angel, using the attached pattern pieces. Please read all instructions before beginning. The pattern pieces are attached below for you to trace and cut out on your favorite designer paper or card stock. They consist of wings, small circle for face – cut on white card-stock, larger circle for halo –cut using gold card-stock or color with gold gel pen, arms, and bow. Final touch cut a, 1 x 2 piece of card-stock for the music folder that the angel is holding. (Note you may substitute other items for the music folder.) For the A2 angel card , fold the body as if to make a loose cone shape. Flatten the piece and glue the two pieces together underneath. Next, cut the wings into two pieces (right down the center), set the body of the angel on your card (do not glue down yet) and place the wings behind the body, so they fan away from the body and are visible. Glue the wings in position and then glue the body down. Cut the smallest circle out of white card-stock for the angel’s face. Draw on your desired expression. Using a circle punch or the face circle cutout the center for the halo. Glue the face to the halo, only at the bottom, so that the face may angle forward. Now, glue the angel face and halo piece to the top front of the body. Place the bow under the face and glue down. Attach a gold button to the center of the bow for decoration. For the angel ornament or stand up decoration: Cut out your body piece and emboss it if desired. Take the body piece and run it over the edge of a table to soften and curve the piece. Using strong adhesive or tape, make a cone shape and glue together. I usually overlap and match up two sections of scallops and glue the piece together. This provides extra strength for your angel. There will be an opening still at the top. If making this as an ornament cut the desired length of string, place the string down into the body and glue down. Place a piece of card stock over the ends of the string for support. For the wings, DO NOT cut the piece into two, glue to the top back of the body, molding them to the shape of the body. To finish your ornament or stand up angel follow the directions for the angel card adding the rest of the pieces. VIEW THE GALLERY FOR THIS CHALLENGE HERE! Good morning everyone!!
|
I can't get the template to print....I've tried twice.
|
Ann, I'm not seeing the pattern. Am I missing something?
|
The template is under the sample pictures. It's a pdf file, but I cant get it to print the wings.
|
The pattern is right below the sample pictures.

They are in one piece but you cut them for the card. |

Did you click on the little print icon on the upper right on the document? |
Yes, I can see the wings on the template, but they won't print out. And I only get part of the bow. I've tried choosing fit to paper also, but it still won't print the wings
|
I'm out of colored ink, don't know if that matters, but all I get is the body, one circle two little comma looking pieces and part of the far left bow. Nothing else prints.
|
Kathy,I am so sorry you can not print the template. I do not know why that it.
Do you have the latest adobe reader installed on your computer? |
Im going to try it on my other computer. I'll see if that's any better.
|
Kathy,
I have just converted the pdf to a word document. Try using that file. |
While you were graciously converting I took the file back to my other computer and got it printed! Thanks for working with me on this!
|
Not a problem Kathy, sorry you had to go through all that work but now it is in two formats that will help others!!
|
Let me understand this...you print out the template...cut out the colored parts, place them over card stock and cut again?
Oh, sorry...I see that you cut and trace. |
After trying 3 times to copy I finally reverted to tracing over the computer screen.... Hopefully she will look nice~
|
You are a genius Roberta! Sorry you could not print the template!
Did you try the word document? |

For whatever reason I can't get your file to come up on my computer. I guess I'm going to have to become imaginative.....

Get as close as you can by viewing the samples and go with it and have fun!! |
This was a great challenge, Ann! I took a bit of artistic license with it to make my Angel Gift Card Holder.
|
OK. Got her done! She's pretty cute, Ann!

Well, I got a card made but couldn't use the template - I used punches (scalloped circle, circle, butterfly, and bow). I'm glad Splitcoast is flexible....

Christmas angel
This was a lot of fun! I thought it was going to take me forever and be a lot harder than it really was. I had the background done already in my stash, so that helped since I didn't have to wait for it to dry. Very cool challenge. Thanks for again making me step outside my box for something new!

You did such an amazing job on this working with what you had available to you and looking at the samples!! I am so impressed by your creativity!! Way to go! |
I kept thinking something doesn't look quite right on my angel....then I realized i forgot her arms and music sheet! So I uploaded a new picture of her after I put them on!

Okay, so, so far I have printed this ( at work in shades of grey) and cut out the pieces, so I keep reading the directions over and over and it looks like the thing that looks like a flat pair of glasses may make a bow? ( I seem to have two sizes of that?) The purple and green pieces in the sample above. ( do you layer them some how?)
