Today's tutorial: Box in a Bag
Author: Diana Gibbs (Stampin Di)
Gallery: Technique Spotlight >> Holiday Blitz Gallery >> Box in a Bag
Keyword: 2018BLITZ4
Date: Nov. 9, 2018

This is such an easy project, and a great size for a small gift! I updated Diana's design with some cute die cut handles.

I scored my paper at 5" and 10" along the long side and folded both sides in. Choosing 2 circle dies for the handles, I centered the smaller one at the top of the folded piece and cut through both layers.

Next I lined up both circle dies together on 2 pieces of cardstock to cut 2 handles at once.

I lined the cut pieces up with my first cuts on the designer paper and glued them in place, then followed the rest of Diana's instructions to assemble the bag, lining up the fold lines in my paper with the corners of the box base.

Bonus tips:
-- I used small staples to hold my box corners together.
--Use the cut out from the handle to make a gift tag!

I went with a holiday themed treat bag, using my evergreen branches and snowflake dies for my embellishments. For my handles, I used a tag topper punch for my handles, and finished with a two ribbon treatment. Here's 2018BLITZ4 Dots & Glitz bag

A tip for anyone who has the envelope insert for the Scor-Pal - using that makes scoring the little diagonals even easier, because you just lay it on the Scor-Pal and lay your square "box" piece along it as you would when scoring an envelope. Same with the bag-a-lope, which also has those diagonal score lines.

Did another box in the bag using Dina's changes!! I really like the larger handles!!

Made the colors to match the twisted gate fold card so I would have a great gift ensemble!!

A fun project Dina. I used your idea for making the handles, also. Thanks! Here's my "box in a bag".
