I did have to brave the crowds at Wal-Mart for an emergency Excedrin purchase for my hubby. Poor guy got a headache yesterday afternoon and we were out of Excedrin. It wasn't too bad though. I chose the small Wal-Mart and it was well past the early morning crazy part.

I haven't been on for a while. Have had two grandkids while mom and dad took a trip to celebrate their 10th Anniversary. These kids have kept me very busy, but it's been fun also. Glad to see that I haven't missed the Yeti prizes!
Congrats to all the winners so far. Looks like you all will be having fun with your prizes soon!

What a week! I worked my 3 12hr shifts MTW at the hospital which right before a holiday is especially grueling then spent Thurs with the whole cooking thing. I finally sat down last night to catch up on emails first to find many messages involving my TY pup card which I shrugged off first to people having time off to peruse the gallery. It didn't dawn on me until I went looking for the love to realize why. I freaking won!! Holy Cow! That is so exciting! What a great additional thing to add to my Thanksgiving blessings! Thank you to all that alerted me out of my exhausted stupor and thank you again to the sponsors and organizers! I'm blown away by this! Yippee! Just when I thought this couldn't have gotten any more fun... well... it did!

Still enjoying the turkey and all the fixings! Finally opened the honeycrisp apple cider and added mulling spices- so delicious warm!

My extended family left in the afternoon so some some of us went out together to buy DH an early Christmas present chair to replace his that literally fell apart last week.

For some weird reason, at 11pm last night after a huge holiday meal, DH had to have something that I have never seen him eat...microwave popcorn. I was not nearby to supervise this adventure in cooking which ended up with almost burning down the house. It took me an hour to clean the brown film off of the microwave. I cannot describe how bad the entire house smells. I think I have to go to Joanns to escape the smell of burnt, rotting corpses.

ack! *shudders* I totally feel your pain, my ds ( who is home visiting ) lives on burnt microwave popcorn. we even bought one of those fancy looks like an old fashioned kind of air popper that takes up entirely too much counter space things trying to convert him into eating better popcorn that does not stink up the house... It did not work.

(I don't drink soda so, that is the junk food she used to give him when she watched him) it could have been worse.

There was a man at our church in Virginia who had lost most of his sense of smell after a brain injury. He did a children's church service during our regular service and he kept burning microwave popcorn. The whole congregation had to endure the smell wafting into the sanctuary from the kitchen next door. Gag!

My husband asked what I plan to do with the extra one?

Good morning, I have a challenge for you

After going through my Christmas cards I have enough for my mailing list and then some!

I normally don't give my Co-workers a card, just a small treat/token of appreciation.

This year I have enough cards to give everyone one, but what could I put in the card that wouldn't be to bulky?

All I can think of is a fun size Hershey bar or a Giradelli square.

Can you think of anything more unique?

Depending on how many you need Patty, you could take some pretty backgrounds if you have a stash, die cut them into tags, add ribbon and a nice silhouette die cut. Then put a magnet on the back for a refrigerator magnet. or you could just put a nice inspirational quote on the back for a book mark.

Thanks for some ideas! I did buy some nuggets, some Andes Mints, and some dark chocolate Creme de Piroulines. I may borrow the bag idea and just tie it to the card with some ribbon.

If I find my ambition today I will share what I come up with, but I'm thinking a nap might be in order first.

Well, I have had days of cooking and spending time with family, but I wanted to take a minute to thanks everyone for their kind comments on my card that let me know I had won a prize! That's so excitingly! I had not visited the Marker Pop site and did not realize that they carried so much more than just markers! They have n impressive line of products and have been generous to support this Falliday Fest!

Woohoo! Thanks for all the sweet comments letting me know I won a prize!! I haven't used the Chameleon markers before. Have any of you? Are they easy to work with - with filling them and all?? Can't wait to be able to try them!

I like the Chameleons, Tricia. I haven't had to fill them yet so I don't know about that one. And there's a bit of learning to toning them the way you want, but they're lots of fun!

Time for true nugget confessions:
I bought a bag after the tutorial came out and planned to make it as one of my five. I opened the bag and laid out the colors I planned to use and went looking for some inner circles to build around. Didn't find three things that worked together that day or the next or the next and after all these weeks I have no nugget cakes and now NO nuggets! Yeeesh... must be that gnome that shrinks my pants and messes up my crop room!

Amy - I did the exact same thing. Wonder if I even have enough to make the nugget cake.... I really did have good intentions.

When the grandbaby is born I will be eating the birth day cake that doesn't need to be used...and if I don't get another cake made tomorrow I am afraid there will be a need to open another bag and that will not be good...I must get at least 4 cakes made from 4 bags...must...

Also...I think I am figuring out the dimensions of lightweight cardboard to make for my circles!

well true confessions, I don't have anyone that I can give a nugget cake to ( a lot of people on my gift list are diabetic) and so, I did not even buy any candy when I seen what that tutorial was. ( I felt slightly guilty but, on the other hand there was such a mental relief that we did not "have" to do every tutorial.)

Stacy I totally understand. My nugget cake is still sitting on a table. I was hoping to take it to my old job to share but I had to get up so early every day and was out the door so fast I always forgot to grab it. Now I am not sure what to do with it as I work at home and it is not easily carried so I would not give it to my DH to take to work.

Well, since we're all in nugget confessional together here--I have to 'fess up also! I dutifully went out & bought a bag when the shopping list came out. I tucked it away & didn't get it out till the tutorial was posted...opened the bag, & ate a few nuggets while watching the tutorial....then a few more while I contemplated what I had on hand to use...then went on to the next challenge, & the next, eating nuggets for inspiration, & eventually ate the entire bag of nuggets without ever getting around to finding any supplies to make a nugget cake!

Oh well, I guess it's not too late to buy another bag, & make some nugget cakes for Christmas gifts... or just eat the nuggets while I wrap presents!!

I am in awe of everyone who actually got a nugget cake (or 2, or 3!!) done!! I think they are all just lovely!!

I bought 2 big bags and have thoughts of either a few cakes or a bunch of bags, probably the latter. Got so caught up with hosting Thanksgiving that all thoughts of nuggets went by the wayside

Oh no, Mom and Dad (of my Grandkids who have been here for 9 days now) missed their flight. They were supposed to be home tonight and now they won't be home until at least 3:45 tomorrow afternoon. It wouldn't be so bad but I have to work tomorrow, we have to drive both our car and their car to the airport when they do get in, I have to shop for food for a Luncheon for 45 that happens on Thursday, and then get back home and cook all the food by Thursday morning at 11. Salad, Main course, Veggie, and dessert. I haven't started any of it. With the grandkids here I just have had no time and didn't really want little helpers for this project. But I am starting to panic because I think I will be pushed to the limit to get this all done. I am definitely going to need a vacation after December 1st.
I thought we would have some prize drawings today and thought it would take my mind off the cooking load! Where's Lydia? I was counting on you for some distraction. I have both the kids occupied for a little while and needed adult conversation. Aghhhhh.

Aghhhhh.
No prize drawings on the weekends. We could distract you with Hershey nuggets though!

Helped DD prepare pieces to make 65 snowmen for the girls on her dorm floor where she's an RA. They're so cute. Thankful to do these things together ( and for dies and punches!)

Needed the girl nugget cake when we went to meet Virginia Grace, our granddaughter born yesterday...thankful for medical care knowledge and a place for a safe delivery!

This morning I want to make some nugget bags to give to people in our little town who have been excited these months with us...librarians, bank ladies, UPS man, mail lady, and of course friends!

Aww, congratulations on the birth of sweet Virginia Grace! I love that you'll be sharing your excitement around town with treat bags! Fantastic! Enjoy!

I just sat and drooled over Lydias craft room which she'd linked to a thread in the General Stamping Forum. It is so light and beautiful with fun vintage touches that I adore. Gives me vision for my "someday" space. In the meanwhile, I gained some good storage and de-clutter ideas from the video.I so need to re-group. It isn't fun to be in the midst of such chaos and that has inhibited my creative drive.
Well, DS is back from class and needing to get on the computer to finish up math. I'll check back in later hoping for PRIZES to be announced.

Oh my gosh - thank you! It's such a small and awkward space - I really had to let go of a lot of stuff and be creative. I'm happy that you like it and it gives you ideas!
