Welcome to the re-posting of my 2008 Scripture Challenge. I know many of you found the challenge late in the year, some were never able to finish, and some of you are brand new! I am glad to have you all join in! I pray that you will enjoy your time of study and your time creating. Before beginning, if you haven't read the instructions/FAQ I sent out, you may want to glance at it. It may be helpful to some of you. You can find that post here.
Just a few more notes before we start:
**You may join at anytime throughout the year. This is for you. Do what you can and don't stress if you miss a week here and there.
**Use any Bible version that you are comfortable with as you choose your scriptures for each challenge.
**A great sight to find scripture searching on a keyword is Biblegateway! It also has many, many versions too.
**Remember to use Scripture Challenge Keyword: SCRC209 when posting in the SCS gallery. It will be easier to search and find each others creations that way.
**Remember no gallery uploads on Sunday here at SCS unless you are a Fan Club member.
**I will post two words/studies every other week. They will be links to our studies from 2008.
Challenges 1 & 2
Here are your two studies:
Week 1: Faith
Week 2: Kindness
I hope you enjoy these, and that the Lord blesses you as you study! I will see you on January 18th when I post your next two words! Blessings to each of you!

Reason: To add the newest challenges!
I was going to join last year but couldn't quite do it. I'd like to join you all this year, please. And could I get/see the instructions and FAQ too, please? I assume that these will have info as to posting dates, etc.
A slightly off-side question: I've looked through the gallery and see that most everyone has done a one-pager for the challenge. I'll assume that's what I'll do for this challenge also, but I've joined a faith-based CJ (on UKS here in England) and we're making mini-books, of course. I'd like to ask if anyone has any good examples for something that might spread across two pages. If you can show me or give me a link, I'd be most appreciative. My CJ title is 'My Little Book of Promises' but everyone has their own title/theme, all are Christian. Thanks so much for any help or examples.

Hi Jane! So glad to have you join in on the challenge! As far as the FAQ sheet, it is in the link in my original post in this thread here. I went back and changed the link color so you can find it easier. Click on the pink link that says 'here.' That will take you to the info you are looking for.
As far as a 2-pager, you could just check the scrapbook gallery here and look for 2-page layouts. I know I always recommend that people flip my sketches on my sketch site to make their second page. That works great too. My sketch site link is in my signature. Maybe someone else has another idea for you too.
And where are you in England? I lived in Turweston near Brackley for several years. I miss our thatched roof cottage--Rose Cottage. And dh graduated from school in London. We sure miss it! Blessings to you!

Hi Patter...thanks for the very quick reply! I found the link now and have had a look at your blog and all the beautiful work in your gallery! Still can't find quite what I'm looking for (two-page LOs for a mini-book) but I'll keep searching. Meanwhile I'm looking forward to this challenge. Is this a carry-on of the Bible Verse Challenge or is it separate?
To answer your question about where I live, it's a little seaside town called Whitstable in Kent, about 1.5 hours straight east of London. I've been in the UK for nearly 7 years and am originally from Dallas, Texas. My husband is English so guess we're here forever.... still have children and grandchildren in Dallas and my hubby is quite taken with the idea of retiring to a couple acres in Tennessee, but I'm not holding my breath. :( I'm happy wherever he's happy as long as we're together!

When you ask if this is a carry-on of the Bible Verse Challenge, do you mean the Divine Design Challenge? If so, no, this is something I did for the entire year last year, and I am re-running it because many people asked me to. The Devine Design Challenge is different, and there is a separate thread for that one.
Okay girls...havin a hard time deciding what to do. 6x6 page,ATC, etc.
Sooooo this is where you darlings come in...let me know what you are doing or have done and the reasons why. Please of course.;)
So glad to have found this thread. So needin to feel His presence. Denise
Denise, I am going to give you some questions to think about to maybe help you in your decision. These really come as a result of my ATC from last year's challenge. And hopefully everyone else will chime in with ideas for ya too!
What will this be used for? Will it be on your desk or something just for you? Will it be out for others to see? Is it something you want passed down through the generations?
I love my ATC from last year. It is in my office, and I actually refer to it a lot now when I am looking for a scripture on a certain top. That said, I am not sure how it will hold up through the generations. And other people are not really in my office, so it is not shared with anyone. An album would last through the generations and could be displayed on a coffee table. That is what I am doing this year. Anyway, maybe this will give you something to think about. Hopefully it won't confuse you more!

A good place to look for ideas is here in the SCS gallery.
To find several 6x6 pages, go to the gallery and put MSS into the search box. That will bring you to those gals who have uploaded their Monthly Scripture Swaps.
Other scripture cards can be found by searching for BVC08. Those are for the Divine Design Challenge and include cards of all shapes and sizes.
When I started this last July, I bought a cheap tin recipe box and decorated it with colors to match my bedroom. When I am so very tired at the end of the day, I will have 52 choices from God's word to meditate on as I close my eyes. Cards are sort of an odd size to fit the box. Something like 4x6.
I like this idea - I posted something on another thread and I think this is probably the best thread to learn this. My friend and I want to do a scripture card. I don't know the Bible well and wanted to learn some 'favourites'. This would probably be a good start for me. I am hoping to learn some scriptures from you as well.
Got my first one done and looking forward to the second.;)
Not a spectacular page but I love the verse. The first one
in my 8X8 album! The image is still pending approval so you
might not be able to view it yet.

Thanks for doing this!
Glad you are joining us. We are all needing to learn more about the Bible and this swap is a fun creative way to do it. An added bonus is the great family of believers to share with!Denise
Roots73--So glad to have join this! And this study and my other study are just that--getting you to read His Word, knowing Him, and living for Him. I just talked to a lady on the phone yesterday, and she was struggling with a passage she was reading. I asked her if she was praying first. She said "Oh duh, I guess that might be a good idea." She was SO cute! Anyway, I always ask the Lord to show me what He wants me to learn before I begin reading my Bible. I didn't do it for many years. I just sat down and read. Well, what a difference it makes when I ask Him to show me something that He wants me to learn. It is awesome. I hope you will try that as you read. He will truly bless you. Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions anytime.
Diane--We are so glad to have you join us too! I hope you will enjoy it, and we can't wait to see your pages/cards.
Sonya--I left you love here and on your blog.

I spent the afternoon with my daughter in the scrap room and was able to complete my two layouts for the Scripture challenge along with a title page. I'm really learning a lot and enjoying the process.
