I love using Scripture on my cards and projects to spread the Gospel through art! This challenge has been created to encourage you to use Scripture verses on your cards or other projects and share them with us:-)
You could try to memorize the verse that you use as you create, but that is not a requirement of the challenge. Encouraged for sure, but not required.
I know that not everyone has a large collection of Scripture stamps, but there are many sources for free digital "stamps"- you can just copy and print verses from Bible Gateway (BibleGateway.com: A searchable online Bible in over 150 versions and 50 languages.). This source is a fabulous way to search Scripture as well as key words, etc. Also, Word Art Wednesday offers a free digital verse every two weeks on their challenge site (Word Art Wednesday). You can copy and save their verses from their site or download from Bible Gateway (which you could re-format on your computer). So, the 2020 Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge guidelines are simple:
1. Please create a card and/or project with a Bible verse printed, stamped, hand-written or computer generated.
2. Upload a picture of your project to the Gallery and use the keywordBVC20in the keyword area so we can see your artwork when we search the gallery.
3. If you can, please copy the URL of your gallery upload and post to this thread so we can all check out your creation!
That's it! As I mentioned above, while the goal may be to post one project per month, you may post more than one and, if you are unable to post in a specific month, post the next month. We do not want anyone to feel pressured but would love to see you use more Scripture on your cards and projects.
Also, I am not sure if you are interested, but we have a2020 Bible Art Journaling Challenge forum as well . We would love to have you join, chat and/or follow and we are looking forward to seeing your artwork in 2020!
If you have any questions at all, either comment in this thread or feel free to PM me.
Here is one more for January- this one was for my hubby's 70th BD and uses Isaiah 46:22 (the stamp is from Divinity Designs LLC, formerly Our Daily Bread Designs).
Went exploring SCS today. After being on SCS for 14 years, I thought I was pretty familiar with it. Found this challenge today. I will definitely be playing along more and more in the coming days, Lord willing. I made a card today that combined with this week's MIX-Ability challenge. I have been working on hand lettering my cards so I hand lettered Psalm 113:3 . MIX368 Praise his name by MariLynn at Splitcoaststampers
Welcome MariLynn! Love your card and love that you found us!! What a wonderful praise card and such a praise that your son received that call- a great testimony and memory for sure!! Hugs and looking forward to seeing more of your artwork in the gallery!!
I have made other cards in the past - but I just made my 1st MemDex card!!!
I am a graphic designer and I love to make Bible Word Art! I would be willing to help with this challenge and provide a free digital Bible word art each month!
Here is a sympathy card for a relative of ours that lost their granddaughter and her unborn baby (he would have been their first great grandbaby)...she lost her battle to addiction only two weeks prior to the anticipated date of giving birth...such a tragedy.
I used Matthew 11:28 on this card- I thought this verse would bring some comfort to the family.
Hi Everyone! I hope all of you are remaining healthy during this pandemic! I am spending time in my craft room and need to get busy posting! This card was designed using a current Divinity Design set, A True Friend along with a sentiment from a retired set of theirs, Sweet As Perfume.
Hi all...
I am trying to get back to crafting after my surgery. And now I am helping kids with their school works at home. Here’s my card with the Bible verse from Isaiah 53:5
Stay safe and healthy!
Hi Everyone! I hope all of you are surviving staying at home, etc. and are staying healthy :-) I actually enjoy staying at home and am finally having a chance to catch up a bit on posting, commenting, etc.
Here are a few cards that I created using Scripture:
Thank you, Kathy- I fully understand re: commenting. I am struggling to comment as much as I would like as well with our schedule plus my shoulder pain.
Hugs and I hope you have a blessed summer, sweet friend!
This card was mailed to a friend (lady in our Monday eve Bible Study) as a birthday card using Scripture Medley 1 (retired Verve Stamps) Philipians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice!"
Hi Everyone! Here is another card using a retired Verve stamp with Psalm 97:1 (a) "The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice" . I love the fonts that Julee used for this stamp as well as the verse itself- everywhere we look, we see the majesty of God's handiwork! The earth truly rejoices and gives witness to His love for all of us! Hugs and I hope you have a blessed week!
Hi Everyone! I hope you are all staying as safe as possible from the fires as well as the pandemic....I had a chance to post a card this evening using the Stamp Simply Blessings/Beatitudes 1 stamp set (love the verses and fonts in this set) and I have never inked up this verse until today:
Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
A friend from church lost her adult daughter this week- she had been in a nursing home for over 20 years due to an accident and the Lord finally called her home....
