HELP! How do you change a digi stamp from black to another color in PSE 6.0

Can someone please help me? I even bought the "Dummies" book for this program and I STILL can't figure this out. ALL I want to do is make a black digi image another color like green or blue etc....

I don't know if the programs are similar or not but I have Photoshop CS4 and just in case this works for you too, what I do is:

Open my image then go to Image - Adjustments - Hue/Saturation, click in the Colorize box then slide the sliders until happy.

Holly, here is a tutorial on recoloring word art. I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing for images. If you are using a .jpg image I think you need to resave it as a .png image first? Sorry it's been a while since i've done this but I know it can be done. I've often recolored my wordart to match the SU RGB colors.

I paint mine using the brush tool by hiding the original brush layer and painting on a new layer above, then delete the original layer - hope that makes sense

Birds Cards instructions above helped me out with this a while back. I am only using Photoshop 2.0. But I found the Adjust color, the the Hue/Saturation menu, and it works great.

just found this and it works in pse 8

To colour a brush in photoshop
Put brush on new layer
Lock transparency by pressing /
Hit alt+backspace to fill brush with foreground colour

How quick is that?????
