Default Heat Embossing Digis on WC paper?

Has anyone tried to Heat emboss a digi image on watercolor paper? I love watercoloring with Tombow markers onto watercolor paper, but I'm not sure if I will have any success with heat embossing the image once I print it. I do have a Cannon Pixma MP560 inkjet printer, but wanted to know if others have had success with this, or will the watercolor paper absorb the ink too quickly?

TIA
Melanie

I have that same printer and I haven't ever been able to get any of my prints to emboss. I tried to do a little colouring on watercolour paper using my Marvy markers (I think they're pretty similar to Tombow - waterbased ink) and the ink smeared - not so noticeable with dark colours, but can really see it with light colours . So what I did was spray the image with a workable fixative and I was able to colour with my markers that way. I find that the workable fixative works for any type of paper, so if I'm having any problems with smearing or my paper pilling, I spray with the fixative.

Can you please tell me the name of the fixative that you used? The one I purchased from Hobby Lobby has an odor even though it says odorless on it. Also, do you have to let the paper dry for a while or can you color after a few minutes?

I'm using the Prismacolor one right now. I bought it at an artist supply store here in town. It does have a pretty strong odour. I always spray my stuff outside and I let it sit for about 5 minutes and then I'm good to go.

I don't emboss my digis, but I do heat set them before watercoloring.
I'm using a laser printer, but the toner was smearing on watercolor color paper. Heat setting it really helps, I can watercolor them now without any problems... I just made one watercolored card yesterday - see my blog
