Don’t know what a Progressive Challenge is? Go here to learn.
PLEASE NOTE! Everyone is invited to play, whether traditional or digi scrappers!
:o Here we are, into November. Are you ready for the progressive challenge? Let’s go!
Choose a plain background paper. It can have some distressing or grunge or a very light design.
Fill the middle part of the page with a photo or a block of photos (approx. 8”x12”) stretching across the entire page from edge to edge. [note: If you're using one photo, you'll have to crop the top and bottom of photo.]
Add a very thin strip or trim along the top and bottom edges of the photo.
Add a vertical item near the left edge of the page. It can be a paper strip, border design, ladder, trellis or other item that stretches from the top to bottom of page.
Add a second photo at lower left of page where the vertical item/strip and the bottom of the large photo intersect.
NOW UPLOAD:
- Remember to first save your page in its original version to maintain your layers, so you'll be able to make changes/additions in Task 2.
- Save your page for the web as a .jpg (600x600 or less) & upload to the Challenge 6-Task 1 Gallery by adding the keyword DGSCPR006Task1 when you upload. Please also post a link to this week’s work in this thread.
i worked on this this evening to keep my mind off the election. boy howdy i will be glad when this is all over and my phone stops ringing with campaign recordings. they sound so real and 9 times out of 10 i start to talk to them until i realize they are not stopping!
Thanks Wendy. This wasn't too hard except:
- finding a photo that had another to go with it
- picking colours that would work with the photo
- finding something in my 'stash' that would work as the vertical element.
These are my kids .... about 1 hour after dd was born ... and then 16 years later (this summer) I'm already excited about finishing this!
Both my kids and dh are actually excited about seeing what I accomplish ... maybe because I'm getting more done now than I ever did on paper! We've got a wide format printer ... so I want to try printing a page and seeing how good it looks!

If you can figure out how to get it to fill the whole page, come over and show me how to work mine! What kind of printer do you have? Mine is an Epson 1430. I always end up with a little while border, but I don't mind it really!

Is there a preference for borderless printing? That might help.
Mac OS X: Select a paper size with a (Sheet Feeder - Borderless) option.
Maybe that will work?
Pretty sure I've tried that one...
Next time I play with the printer I will see if I can figure it out, thanks for the link! I don't have a lot of patience (believe it or not, LOL) and I am really ok with the 1/4" of white all the way around the page too - as long as its relatively consistent its not such a big deal.

This sounds like fun but I bet I'll forget by tomorrow morning to come back and play along. Is there a way to get reminders?
Not real reminders, but since you've posted here, you should be notified of any new posts added to the thread. So, when you see the e-mail and reference line, you'll be reminded! ;) Hope you'll join us. It really is fun!
Next week hubs will be gone all week!!!! Going to try to do some of the digi challenges from this last weekend. Had time to look and see what the challenges were but not any time to do them :(

Don't you need to Subcribe under Thread Tools at the top of the page to receive email notificaiton?
I just looked in the Edit Options in my Control Panel and I see I have this checked:
"When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread."

So I automatically receive notifications.
I'll have to do that so it auto.
I printed more pictures so I hope to do a few more challenges tomorrow night!
I am probably wrong...what day was it today??? but I think it is Tuesday
Yup.
The next part of the challenge is posted each Tuesday. But there are no time limits.
In August I did the July AND August challenges, starting about the third week of August.
We're all about trying new things and having fun ... and getting some pages done!
And making new friends in the process!

Glad to hear that there's not deadline! I'm going to play along and have my idea & photos but I had something come up today and didn't get to it. Hopefully tomorrow.
