I guess I just couldn’t let a week go by without posting a digi-challenge, so here’s a simple one: Create a page using (1) at least 3 summery papers; (2) use at least 4 elements; (3) use pre-made (purchsed or freebie) alphas for your title (rather than just using a font – fonts are fine for your journaling this time.) Oh, and one more –– (4) add some texture to at least one non-textured paper. (Although it’s kind of hard to see, on my sample I added texture to the white background paper.)
This would be fine for traditional scrappers too, so let's see your pages, ladies!!!!
Here’s MY SAMPLE–- it’s a page I did a while ago, but it fits the challenge.
Make sure you add DGC036 to your keywords (additional keywords are OK too, just separate them with commas), and PLEASE post a link here in this thread; we would NOT want to miss it! Also, if you aren't a FAN CLUB member, please observe the NO UPLOAD on SUNDAY rule!
You can find all submissions for this challenge here: DGC036
If you have any questions please feel free to contact any one of the SBCT (scrapbook challenge team) via pm or simply post your question in this thread. You may also PM me if you’d like.
I haven't been able to do any digital scrapbooking or challenges in a long time. In fact I haven't even made a single card since last Christmas! So I really enjoyed doing this challenge tonight! Hope you like it!
Thanks Wendy for this great challenge. I am so happy you decided not to let our "digi challeges" fade away. I don't know how summery this layout is but I found the papers, cluster frame and splash element on Raspberry Road Designs and loved them. I made the little elements on either side from some shapes I have but can not remember where I got them. I thought the folder would have a TOU that would have the name of who provided them but it doesn't. I recolored them and used a weave texture on them. Thanks for looking.
OK Wendy. I know you told me to post to this thread too a while back but I wasn't sure where it was since it's not listed on the home page along with the other challenges. Here is the link to the page I did for this challenge. The only real summery thing about it is that the pictures were taken on the first day of summer!!!! lol!!! TFL
I know--it's a pain that we don't have a listing on the home page. I created a favorites tab for myself in Internet Explorer so I can get to the right place easily. Thanks for taking the time to include your page here--you're doin' digi great!!
Most photo editing programs have a place where you can change the look of the paper---like to make it look like burlap, bumpy, crumpled, etc. Normally you select the object and then apply the texture. I don't know what program you use, but hopefully, you have something there. If not, just use a paper that already has a textured look to it.
Candy--You asked the other day about texturizing paper. As I was browsing DigiscrapDepot today, it occurred to me that you can use textured overlays to create your texture. DigiScrapDepot has a whole category for Overlays. Check them out!
For some reason, I didn't realize you used PSE7, Candy. I thought it was a program I didn't know anything about. Not that I know a lot about Elements 7, I just know more about it than some of the others!
