Hi digiscrappers and soon-to-become digiscrappers! I'm Wendy I hope you enjoyed Task #1 of the Progressive Challenge last Tuesday! I was thrilled to see that so many people played, and now, its on to Task #2!!
If you didnt get to start the challenge last weekIts fine to start late or catch up if you miss a week(s). Just be sure to complete & post each task before you look at or start the next one. Its more fun that way!
What Is a Digi-Scrap Progressive Challenge? The objectof the challenge is to complete one page over the course of four weeks by following instructions given in tasks posted each week.
On the first Tuesday of each month, Task 1 will be posted, consisting of instructions for starting a scrapbook page that will then be built upon through additional instructions each week for a total of 4 weeks (Tasks 1-4.)
The idea is to work along with the challenge as the tasks are being announced weekly, each task to be completed & posted prior to starting on the next task. (Once you post a weeks results, youre finished. Dont change your work for that weeks task.)
At the end of the fourth week, you should have a completed page!
For additional tips and info. about the Digiscrap Progressive Challenges please go here.
Instructions will be given for a 12x12 page, but youre welcome use whatever size page you choose. *********************************
CHALLENGE ONE - TASK 2. -Add at least two circles of any kind or size to the page. They can be placed anywhere on the page. (Dont count papers youve already used if they have circles on them! The circles must be newly added in this task.) You may use pre-made circular kit elements, "punches," cookie-cutter cut-outs, brushes, more papers with circles, circular frames, etc., whatever your lil' heart desires!
-Add one or more splatters, scatters or spills to the paper(s) (see attachment for examples).
-Addeither one or two photos to the page.
-Save your page. Be sure to keep the original page with all layers. Youll need to add Task 3 to it for the next step. Then save as a .jpg & upload to the Digiscrap Progressive Scrap Challenge-Task 2 gallery for June 2012 (This is done automatically if you add keyword: DGSCPR001Task2 when filling out upload info.)
Had to go back and check, and yup, I remembered right. Last week you said we could use one or two pics. I was planning on one, so it kinda threw me off when you said to add two pics! Love your sample! Can't see Candy's yet but will check back later. Whatever it is...she's still quick!!! Hi Candy!!!

I'll fix it in the challenge description. Good catch, Carol!! :p
I've been playing along but can't seem to get my pics to load here on SCS. Never had problems adding cards to my gallery not sure what I'm doing wrong. Fun to play anyway.
I have to confess, I'm a digiscrap hoarder and I rarely only use one kit! If they had a Scrapping Hoarder show, I could be a "subject" for it--both digi and traditional scrapping--and photos too (and picture frames, photo albums, etc., etc.!!) And I bet I'm not alone!! :p
One of the things I love about digi is there are lots of great freebies out there, although I'm not averse to buying digi stuff sometimes too--when they have a good sale!

Maybe your page size is too big if you made it a 12x12 or 8x8 size. There are size limits for uploading.
I create 12x12 pages, but I save my pages at 600x600 pixels for SCS
Here is a great section on SCS with lots of helpful info. The top thread in there gives some upload sizing guidelines. Even though a lot of it is for cameras, it does have sizing info. that should apply to scrap pages too.:
In that thread, Lydia also said: "But if you're using PS, just go to image> size and change it to something LESS than 2048 pixels in whatever the larger dimension is - width or height. Anything over 2048 wide or high will be rejected."
I only caught it because I was planning on using one pic! LOL!
I had it right when I originally wrote up the challenge, but then when I remembered today that I had 2 pics in mine, I thought I had typed it up wrong, so I changed it. Should have trusted myself the first time! Oh well! :p
Yes, it can be a little trying since you don't know what direction it will go, but since it's just one page out of, hopefully, many that you'll produce this month, so you can just sit back and see what unfolds! :p
One of the things I enjoy is seeing how everyone's interpretations turn out so different!
OK. Here's my task 2 finally. It's been a difficult week...last Saturday I "locked" my knee when trying to kneel to the floor and couldn't walk on it without extreme pain since I couldn't straighten it back out and spent all morning at the doctor. All he did beside xraying it and telling me nothing was "broken" was to wear a brace, give me Naproxen and come back in 2 days when the swelling was down. We had plans to go to Phila. that afternoon for a birthday party and to spend the night (in pain the whole time) and on Tues I went back to the dr. All he did was say I should get an MRI to see if anything was torn. I waited till Fri am and when I got no call back about scheduling the MRI (still in pain but able to finally walk on it carefully) I stopped at the Dr. and they scheduled an MRI for last evening. Now I won't find out the extent until Tues or Wed! Sure do hope I won't need surgery since we go to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens in 2 weeks...won't that be a nice trip this time around :(
Anyhow....here is my second task...I got a little long winded in the description but thought if any of you wanted to figure out how I did some of the things in Photoshop Elements, some instructions would be there to help out.
Oh Terry, I'm so sorry about your knee! I hope you get it resolved before your trip!
I've been on two trips when I had leg injuries. One time (a long time ago) I used a wheelchair and the other a scooter. The scooter was great (actually pretty fun!) Don't know if it would work for your injury, but the parks are usually equipped to accommodate mobility equipment, so it's not a hassle. On our trip to Disney World, me and everyone in my party got to get in the "fast" lines. You might consider it if walking will increase your pain and reduce your fun! A friend loaned me her scooter for DW, but the parks often rent them by the day or they can be rented by the day or week elsewhere. They break down for easy transport and you charge them at night. Just a thought!
LOL! You might try one of the other scrap challenges to keep you busy until Tuesday, Tess. They're not specifically for digi, but they're fun and motivating and I just make digi pages instead of paper!
